Right now it's not very common to see teams with a majority of AV7 players, but this may change in the future...
Again, no, since it is not a block action.
Thing is, they're still 15k more than a lineman and for that they get 1 extra square of movement but one worse pass and one worse armour. As you've already found they don't have enough movement to reliably shadow the sort of pieces you'd want them to and by far the most likely outcome of a stab attempt is that it does absolutely nothing and leaves your AV 8+ piece next to someone who likely won't be relying on stab to smash your face into the turf.
Neither of their starting skills form a particularly frightening combo with other skills; keep an eye out and see if you see anyone taking shadowing\stab by choice. Multiple block is their best pick, even if you're still no more likely to land a hit, but that takes more spp to save up which they don't get from stabs as you already know and is unfortunately the one skill Cyanide seemingly forgot to put in the game.
I like the model and the idea but they're just such a clear waste of TV you're always going to get more value out of a lineman or even a second runner for that matter. Poor assassins, they're absolute garbage on an otherwise great team.
+1MA is worth 20k so this almost sounds like a deal. And since bash teams are generally held to MA6, I would say MA7 is actually worth more.
Stab is usually for low armor players, and the ones you want to use it on are also ironically the ones your opposing coaches will often have Blodge on. Against blodge each die only has 1 side that will knock it down. But against av8+ you have about a 45% chance of breaking armor. Think Human/Elf catchers, gutter runners, goblins and such.
In the current 13 team meta, maybe it isnt as good as it is in BB2020 but it isnt the trash you're saying it is.
Stab's really nice when you get next to a low armour piece and it works, trouble is a half-decent coach won't have too much trouble keeping them away from you and in any case, it winds up feeling like a waste because that's exactly the sort of piece I want to take down with any other player to actually get some easy spp. You could put them on the LOS but because they're AV8+, have neither block nor dodge and even AV8+ is not far off 50/50 most of the time they'll just wind up doing nothing and stood next to the opponent defenceless. Even if they blitz that ends their turn so they can't get away. Also if they're using stab the only way they will level up is if you feed them touch downs but on a team with four blitzers, two witches and a bunch of guard-hungry linemen I'd rather give that spp to any other player so they take forever to get anywhere.
I will give you that they're great against goblins but that's not something I've ever found particularly useful.
Sure, a half decent coach only allows 1 hit a turn thru blitz cuz their screen is perfect linemen in front and I'll never have access to a gutter runner over 16 turns.
People who make this argument aren't even worth the time.
In any case I wasn't trying to upset you, sorry if I touched a nerve.
A MV7 player position in the middle square between sidelines can hit any tile on the board for 15 (19 with Rush) spaces up and down the pitch. If your gutter runner was hiding behind a screen at the beginning of the turn there is no way for you to blow past me in 1 turn. Your scenarios are implausible
