Can't register team?
So I just made a team of Dark Elves. 1 Lineman, 1 Runner, 1 Princess, 4 Blitzers, 2 Assassins. 980,000 points.

It won't let me "register" for either a single player game or multiplayer game. The team is kinda just greyed out, and nothing happens when I click on it. And yes, I already did the tutorial, all of it.

You need 11 player in a team to play with it.

You need 11 players not 9. Chack that my friend. That's at the start of the register, during the season you can have less and even get free lineman loners to complete the team.

Also, don't ever take one Assassin, let alone two!

Except all that does is go straight to an armour roll so only ends up doing anything on pieces with really low av anyway and with an av of 8+ with st 3 themselves most pieces would happily take the hit and punch them back. Add to this the fact stab injuries don't generate spp and the assassin is definitely in the running for the worst positional in the whole of blood bowl. They become slightly less awful with multi block which they can now get but it seems like they forgot to put this skill in bb3. I guess they can be fun but they are terrible and not scary in the slightest.

Even if they have armour 10 you hit them 1 out of 12, but a failure does not cost a turnover.
A one dice block hit them 4 out of 12, but there is also a 4 out of 12 turnover risk, the other 4 are push opponent away. This is for one on one with guys of the same strenght without skills.

Indeed but even a one die block has more chance of doing something useful and I don't recommend doing those. Stab has a good chance to do absolutely nothing at all and leaves your expensive AV 8+ piece without block or dodge next to someone just waiting for a mighty blow blitz and because it will never generate any spp it's more of a pain to get them skills to survive being next to pieces. Alternatively you wind up eating a lot of blitzes that do nothing and still leave you based.

I already added dodge to my level 2 assassins, if that helps.

Sometimes you want to stab, you are right it is better to jab. The best move isn't always the funiest. Yep, they should give those knifeusers spp for a blade doing damage, an omission in the current and previous ruleset, a man can dream. The piece has some extra speed and the annoying shadowing skill too. At the cost of a lower Armour that is.

Always a wise pick for any elf and the next skill should definitely be block, it's just a shame that each one now costs you 105K in TV for a player that mostly ends up being worse than a lineman.

They get one extra square of movement which is rarely decisive especially if they spend their time failing stab attempts and I couldn't disagree more about shadowing. If it was annoying they might be less of a garbage piece. In reality they just don't have enough movement for it to trigger reliably on the sort of low strength/high movement pieces that would want to dodge away from them and anyone with low movement is usually pretty unlikely to dodge away anyway. Mostly they're more than happy to have the chance to punch an AV 8+ piece.

There was another thread where some players created "custom" teams, and couldn't register those for multiplayer. The normal team creation option(s) worked, and allowed them to play.

If you're already adding skills to a team that hasn't played yet, then you've created a "custom" team - those cannot play multiplayer - the team value and player count doesn't matter.
