Passing
Will passing be more important in BB3 than in BB2?
In BB2, I miss more games with passes and interceptions that would make the game more interesting.

It will be less passing with the 2020 rules in BB3.
Passing is now a stat separate from Agility.

I know that there will be separate statistics, but how will it work? Passes will now make more sense in this game playing every nation?

It works the same as it did before, but players with a passing check throw, and agility is used to catch. Means some players with no passing skill can only handoff.

It works the same as before, except for that and:

* A large percentage of positionals were given a PA score lower than their old AG

* Pass modifiers for range are all 1 point more severe than before

* The Accurate skill has been nerfed to only apply at certain ranges

* The Strong Arm skill has been reworked to no longer apply to ball throwing

* Many players can no longer take Passing skills at all, even as a Secondary (the new equivalent to "on a double")

So the core idea is the same, but Elves are nowhere near as potentially broken at long-range passing as they used to be, passing with a non-Thrower type is harder in general, and teams without dedicated Throwers can no longer build an unrelated positional into one (as easily or completely).

On the flipside, Humans and Skaven now get 2+ Quick Passes where Elves don't. So simple Completions are easier for them and they can potentially pull ahead more in building a dedicated long-range Thrower if they want.

Interceptions are harder too.

I play the tabletop version quite a bit.

Passing isn't as important for a good chunk of teams. Most games tend towards caging your carrier and trudging down the pitch surrounded by your beefiest players while the rest whittle away at your opponent's team.

Considering passing felt like a fool's errand even with teams that were good at it in BB2, I have hard time imagining whats it like with LESS throwing. :/

I would want the game to be more dynamic than in BB2.

Passing has become even less reliable because the introduction of WILDLY INACCURATE PASSES:
If, when making the Passing Ability test, the dice roll is a
1 after modifiers have been applied, the ball will deviate
from the square occupied by the player performing the
Pass action before landing.

also good passing hability are limited to throwers, so no more short passes between players of high agility teams.

also, passing skills have been nerfed. i.e. the old accurate is divided between the new accurate (quick short ranges) and cannoneer (long and long bomb) ¿why getting a stupid and practically useless pass skill when you could get vital skills like block, leader, dodge...?

The passing game is so unreliable and TV-expensive that is not worthy except for just some good throwers: skaven, human and high elves. Even in these cases you have the feeling that you are wasting TV

For me this is the biggest problem with the new BB2020 rules. Hopefully this will be amended in the far future, either by games workshop or even by cyanide.

That's really what I'm about. It would be more interesting. more games and the results would be more varied.

Well the game isn't really designed around having +2500k TV teams decked out with skills. If you want to win tournaments in the 1000-1750k TV range you'll have to do some passing. That being said my default 2-1 game plan typically doesn't require any passing unless things go haywire.
