Personally I would wait till November and see how it unfolds.
The game is currently in an Early Access state.
The first season doesn't even start before may.
Autumn Steam sale starts at the 21st of November.
Also games tend to be more fluid as you can now declare actions without having to wait for animations to finish. It's a detail, but a big one if you play a lot.
People complains are about early access crashes and the season pass model chose by the devs. Game was unplayable before the patches but now it's working fine online or solo.
Honestly if your tempted just test it, play a game and refund if you didn't enjoy it that much compared to previous titles.

And they're not even touching the whole microtransactions fiasco.
You know you're in trouble when not even IGN wants to shill for you.
To be fair that guy does not know much about BloodBowl.
He complains about team compositions and models when they are from the rulebook and official figurines.
Also someone saying it is more about luck than skill is a red flag to me.
True.
His points comparing BB3 to BB2 are valid though, imo. The game looks and feels like a cheap, hastily thrown together copy of the older titles.
Eventually, but there's no rush to get it right now.
In its current state BB3 has a lot of bugs that can really frustrate a coach - the kind of bugs that ruin a match if they spring up, and given that matches are an hour in length or sometimes more, it's a rough and jarring end to a match with no progress made as a result.
Will it get past this rough part? Almost certainly. BB2 did. It will take a bit, though, since there's all this angry mob crap going on that diffuses the important points in favour of just shouting and ranting. Cyanide won't hear the complaints of the people looking to improve the game over the roar of the people who want to tear it all down.
Personally, I like the look and feel of play in BB3, but my own league will remain in BB2 until they improve league options in BB3 and they iron out match-ruining bugs.
