Help: Playoff Format Simple Match (no tie)
Hello,

I'm rather new to Blood Bowl, as such I try to play the campaign and understand the rules. Which is really hard when you get 90 seconds to read everything and buying starplayers and buffs and whatnot!

So I played against Bilge Rats and, of course, had a tie. The match continued and I almost had the ball in touchdown. I was smashing rat skulls, giving them no room to maneuver, and felt like one or two turns away from scoring touchdowns. (Dice Gods had a laugh, I tell ya!)

I'm not saying I'm mad at losing this match after all. I just don't understand the rules, and they don't seem to be explained anywhere. Why did the game end suddenly and the Bilge Rats get a point? For what have they received the point?

Thanks for your help in advance. :)

Did they score earlier? The matches are divided into two halves with each team getting 8 turns each half. At the end of the first half you reset your rerolls and after the last players 16th turn the game ends.

I scored in the first half, they scored in the second. After turn 16 it was 1-1. The match continued until turn 25 or so with neither scoring. The match ended 2-1, but it wasn't said what they got the second point for.

I played the match again and tied again. So during the "third half" I finally scored a touchdown. So far, so good, but it's weird that the remaining turns were played out nonetheless, the whole point of overtime is to settle the game with whoever scores first.

It also annoyed me that the first match that I lost had no concequences for my team, as far as I could tell all SPPs and injuries were lost.

But in regards to my topic's question: To strategically plan for a stalemate, I need to know what decided the final score. Field occupation? Longest time of a team holding the ball? Whoever held at the end of the last turn? I hope somebody in the community, or the developers themselves, know the answer to this question. :epifear:
