Perhaps after 'retail release' the store might become operational
I do not know and this is purely speculation
My advice, don't invest into a game that is likely to be dead on arrival.
Here, something to read about further details of the game:
https://www.pcgamer.com/blood-bowl-3-is-a-hot-mess-and-not-just-because-of-its-game-breaking-bugs/
Mainly I'm curious how we pay for more Warpstone (sorry, I should have said "pay" instead of "obtain"). Be it for dress-ups for our digital men, or for a Blood Pass or whatever when we don't have time to grind for free stuff. I am more inclined to buy more if through Steam, and less if external to Steam.
Too many companies are just desperate to get addicted paypigs and whales instead of making a good product that sells because it is fun and well designed.
It is very likely this will end like Necromunda: Underhive Wars. They will release 2-3 dlc teams (they already have ready, so no additional work on the game is needed) and then abandom the game because no one plays it.
There is no reason to play this game instead of BB2. Without players, an online focused game is doomed to get closed.
Maybe, maybe not? it's such a hot mess, I dont care enough to watch that cringe powerpoint video again.
I really loved BB1 and BB2, but both lacked in customization options, in the long run. Right now, BB3 does that even more, but if they can support their game for long enough, it will have (hopefully) way more customization content available, sooner or later.
As long as the rewards in warpstone from playing is not too low (I guess for every 2-3rd round you should be able to buy another SIMPLE item, like a helmet for 75ws, easily, if not more) I am okay with the current model of the shop.
And as long as they do not only release tons of DLCs/cosmetics while completely ignoring crippling bugs or server problems that have been present for years/months (I am looking at you, "Hunt: Showdown" developes/publishers!), I am okay with the battle pass idea.
There are three main potential ways to do that, and as it stands:
1) The campaign seems bugged (restricted during pre-launch?) to not allow you to earn the Achievement for beating the Dark Elves and move on. So playing Campaign offline is only the same 3 games over and over again.
2) You can play one-off 'Friendly' hotseat matches, but that's it.
The game supports custom tourneys.
The game supports entering multiple of your teams into one tournament.
The game supports hotseat play.
Yet the game does not support using hotseat mode within tournaments.
3) Playing as the only human team in an AI league is doable, but an Online-only feature. As per:
So, yeah, of the three potential ways to progress a team without using multiplayer, none are currently allowed and functional in offline mode.
Though granted it sounds like the fourth kind of progression, actual multiplayer, isn't very functional for a lot of people either, even when they do go online for it.
