The WORST aspects of this game
1) The save system is BS. Losing 10 minutes or more of scavenging, progress, etc. because the game doesn't allow you to actually manually save and instead predetermines arbitrary points to save progress? Horrible design choice.

2) The black Stalker showing up and preventing me from continuing the game for up to 5 minutes at a time with his BS. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't TELEPORT RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU. Again, another horrible design choice.

I honestly LOVE this game otherwise and it's very frustrating to deal with this stuff. I really hope the sequel does NOT have these issues.

Alien Isolation do much worse with the presence of the enemy constantly pounding every time. The save system is a wreck I've got to agree even after with their plans of releasing dx12 support, raytrace technology. They could not for once arrange some time and plan to fix the save system.

However there are many areas in the world which will constantly auto save. You can use that as your to own advantage but keep in mind the game generate three auto saves. You can find them these auto saves to keep track of any progress you've made. Some are scripted during a fight ( those I find worse ) but generally while exploring or visiting some gateways or tunnels will trigger this auto save that can be used again.

Sometimes using workshop menu to build a trap and activating it will run a new auto save but only seen happening couple times and traps do waste materials. This is in my experience so far and feel free to test.

I thought it's just my luck to get the Black Stalker always on me. The maps and the models, etc very nice, but other hand the game have to many "bugs" and emptiness... it's feel like almost an early access game.

The game saves as soon as you are save and get exp/trigger an event/build etc. You can see that on the top left corner every time. Pick up something and it's saving.

Sometimes its even not necessary 2b save (some situations can be exploited). It works reasonable when you observe and so understand how that works.

You can greatly increase the time until the stalker comes by building on the map. There are machines against that. There are also positions, where he cannot spawn, or will do only once, so you survive afking
E.G. Lifts and window-entrances. both in the hospital for example

I've never seen him spawning on top of me (you mean over your head?) - must be a rare case.

But after all these mentioned exploits are just not leading to the intended playstyle.

The stalker is meant to force you to leave the level in most cases. So you have to be fast to do your mission, raid as much as you can and escape as soon as he finds you. Only the first few missions you have enough time, to clean up the map. Else, the management part would be a no-brainer.

Correctly front of me and happened multiple times, at the first scripted mission with him in the hospital. So I hope later it's not happening.

Areas that I've my best times playing tic tac toe with Black stalker:
  1. When crouching and walking under train wagons and staying putt between the coverage area;
  2. When running in circle around small buildings such as collapsed houses or smallest house will do;
  3. When entering in the ''village people'' in Red Forest. He was not invited in by the locals so he couldn't be welcome.:lampoff::gasmask::apteka:
  4. Again inside train wagons, if he was spawning inside all I had to do was to jump off the exit door and go inside again. :tgrin:
  5. Using sewer tunnels like in Kopachi. He can't duck due to his amount of heavy equipment and I'm almost sure he is old like +40 years old. Making very difficult to get up.

I think this is all I that I remember having best times playing tic tac toe with Black stalker.

Well, I just wanted to give some hints but ofc we can talk the details. I remember some more:

- Using the chernobylite entrances of slab constructions, where you have to duck to get in. He will spawn outside or inside and cannot go in/out then. When you are in the middle, you'll have enough time to get out/in
- The functional lift (Center of Cher, top middle). Stay in the entrance. As soon as he spawns, go back and the lift will move you to the roof. wait there until ... well repeat :BH2_Smile:
- the military barracks (same map): under them are paths that lead to a photograph. There you are completely safe .. good afk place

In general: Every place, that has 2> ways with some walls to cover behind is good. Because as soon as he has detected you, he will not move anymore after spawning but start shooting. So just move behind an obstacle and he will hit it instead of you. A tree is sufficient. A wall is better
So just avoid open areas / don't run away.

I must update this... the sequel looks awful. Will NOT be buying or playing it.

Not always indie developers learn to pay attention to community thefore any new product or standalone sequel will continue to be flaw. Even big companies make mistakes.
