Chernobylite has a campaign, but it is not yet complete. Has many mechanics, but they are not yet properly finished and balanced. The current version is a fairly large piece of the game that gives you a good idea of what the game will be in the future. It is currently being developed based on feedback from players.
It does not mean, that cherbobylite will be a bad game when its finish, but i dont think it would be a new stalker.
its nothing like any of the stalker series imo unfortunately :( m,the original stalker atmosphere simply cant be cloned.
thats not to say this is bad etc etc, just that it accidently gives a stalker vibe from the pictures n trailers etc and thats going to cripple its chance of success imo.
it either needs to enter the stalker lore properly or hurry up and lean towards metro maybe or indeed some other theme.
sitting on a high up roof with a sniper rifle, having jump n climbed n jumped n fell off lol n tried again for ages to get there is part of the stalker atmosphere of can-do,i spent days up there lmao, pure enjoyment it was, picking off various mutants etc,,,no other game has ever filled that stalker feeling for me.
im watching this game but like i say,if it continues to emulate stalker in its trailers and utubes itll just fade away, killed off by peoples disapointment its not stalker.
Our main problem is that Roadside Picnic, from which the Stalker series originates, does not take place even in Chernobyl. For us it is very important. We are much more inspired by the real Chernobyl and disaster itself. We are inspired by legends told by locals, and we create characters based on the people we met there, and the story based on their experiences. Of course, with an exaggerated redraw and Sci fi elements to make the game a game, not a document. We call people visiting the zone Stalkers, because all people who are staying there illegally are called so by the locals. This is not a reference to a series of games.
I know that many people would like us to be just a remake of Stalker. But this is not our way.
That makes it kind of hard to ignore the similarities as you can see.
I'm not saying that the game will not be liked by stalker fans. On the contrary, I am convinced that many of them will like our approach to the zone. But if you expect from Chernobylite a similar experience and gameplay loop to Stalker, then you will simply be disappointed. Chernobylite in these elements is much more like Resident Evil, This War of Mine, or our previous game Get Even. This will not change, because we care that our games have their own identity and feel.
im really looking foward into what chernobylite will be in the future, with some deep athmosphere of the zone like we had in the Stalker games, but with a complete new way of storytelling. Yeah, i dont know what i should think about the teleperter stuff, i dont like it to be honest, but i hope it will be better explained in the future game and story so the world feels more connected to me.
No its not a Stalker, its far from that, but its still a really interesting project.
