The necessary condition for Ray Tracing to be available in the game is to launch it in DX12 (and also ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date).
Please try to follow these steps:
1. After clicking on "play" in steam, select the "Play Chernobylite (DirectX 12)" option and confirm -> game will launch
2. In Main Menu, go to Options -> Video Options -> Advanced Video Settings and browse through the options - you will find "Ray Tracing" at the bottom part of the list
3. Select RT quality from low to ultra and click "apply"
Please let me know if it helped! :)
Try this option:
1. In the steam library, right-click Chernobylite and select "properties"
2. "general" tab should be opened, if not - switch to it
3. At the very bottom there is a "launch options" field
4. Type -dx12 there
5. Restart steam
Once you do it, the game will always automatically start in DX12, and it won't require clicking the "play" button. :)
