Specs help
Can anybody give me a yes or no for Chernobylite early access based on these gaming laptop specs. (I’m perfectly happy with great performance but I’m an experience gamer not a performance gamer. 30fps on good graphics settings with some hiccups here and there — even in a finished retail game — I’m okay with so long as I can enjoy the game.)

Intel Core i5-7300HQ
16GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 1050 Mobile/4GB VRAM

I think the CPU is the only make or break issue for min specs but I’ve seen I can maybe get 30fps on high. Anyway, any help welcome.

i dont think youll get 30 on high medium or low 1080p would be a better target

Medium will work. Thanks. Or I can maybe try 720p. Something will work I figure. I expect 30fps medium 1080p is more or less this gen console quality especially for an early access.

while you wouldnt get the exact performance of this game if you have another game with a similiar engine (unreal engine) and mess around the settings of that game of course it would be a very rough test but it would be better then nothing

It really is hard to say if your specs will be enough. Laptop specs are very different than normal desktops. I think it should work on low with 30 fps, but I'm not sure about resolution - would recommend 720p.

CPU surely is the problem, as it is beneath our standard on low settings: i5-2500K.

We've just updated the store page. Now you can find out which graphic settings allow the minimum and recommended spec.

did you specifically run a 2500k with a high end gpu to test how much of a limiting factor it is?

It does not work that way. We tested the game on PC specs listed in the requirements. If you want to play on a PC with a hardware(even one part) lower in quality than listed, we cannot be responsible for the effect. With about 20-25 people in the team, we don't have resources and time to actually do that sort of tests. Bottlenecks are bottlenecks and situation with high end PC with a CPU lower than I5-2500K is highly unlikely.

In this situation, it's even worse since it's a laptop which hardware cannot be compared to the desktop counterparts exactly.

Don’t sweat it. My kids have a desktop gaming PC that meets min spec across the board. So I can do early access and try it on my laptop, then play it on their desktop if the laptop performance is just too tough.

But whether or not I do the PC early access or not, you guys will definitely have a console customer when Chernobylite launches for consoles. Looking forward to the game even if I play it later rather than sooner.

Thanks again.
