Slow start?
Started playing the day before yesterday. Enjoying the game, but the start seems crazy slow. Not so much for the first 100 levels, but by around 90 or so I started only moving one level up every reset.

I am saving for the 1500 double research metorite upgrade which means not boosting other stuff, and I wasted metorites on armor and offense upgrades (trying to get to the more gold) before I noticed the double research.

That being said I have done just about everything I can to boost my power (except spending money), and it's dog slow if I'm gonna go at this rate all the way to 200 before getting another character.

I was pushing for 100 figuring I'd get SOMETHING good at 100 that would speed things up, but got literally nothing at all at 100, not even a congrats.

I like the game but if I'm going to be moving 1 level up every reset (and I wait for an hour to reset usually doubling my firestones in that time, although I did just get 30% boost to firestones when reseting so that should help...and I'm boosting the prestige skill as well (still only 3% from that, just got it).

Still will it really take about 100 hours of play to get to 200 (if it doesn't slow down even more).

I have not unlocked tier 2 or 3 equipment yet again because trying for double research (about 400 metorites away now), then I will, and I'm saving my (good) chest (so far only 1) for then. That also may be slowing things a tiny bit.

Perhaps it's due to things like that which will benefit me more in the long run that I'm going so slow now, but it is mega frustrating lol.

Join a guild and a fellowship, there's some strong bonuses in it for you even at low levels.

Hi wulfster42
there are a few things that can be helpful for progressing faster even though you should be aware at this point that this is a long term game, but that doesn't mean that you will progress slower.

Here are some short tips
• Unlock the second research slot in the library (you are already working on this)
• Unlock Trier 2+3 of the hero equipment (you also know this or are working to achieve it)

• Whole research (Firesorne, Exotic, Alchemist, Meteorite, Pers. Tree, Talent)
Focus first on: Gold, Battlecry, Prestige, Research Time Reduction (Map, Alchemy, Firestone, Guard training), Damage/All main attributes, Double meteorites and Double beer, Firestone)
The order is up to you, but Gold should always be one of the first.
Raining gold, raining gold and... uhm... more raining gold! It's all about the gold!

• Prestige
Especially at the beginning of the game, you should make prestige as often as possible, as you have already noticed, after each prestige you progress faster.
As a rule of thumb do not prestige unless you gain at least +100% firestones. Other than that prestige when it is convenient for you and you have the time to get back to your farming stage.
But you don’t have to prestige at 2x multiplier. You can wait longer and get a higher multiplier. Do remember that you have to collect 6 times as much gold to double the amount of newly collected firestones. So it’s better to do shorter runs than longer runs. But stay at least an hour at your farm stage. (Farm at a stage where most of your heroes can kill enemies with a single shot!)

• Do as many map missions as you possibly can. Time them wisely. Short on time? Do short missions first, and just before you leave, start the longer missions.

• Always try to do all daily quests because the bouns are not to be despised

• Make sure to collect each day's check-in reward. (I guess this tip is useless as you will be reminded of it in the game.)

• The cost of the first guardian evolution is 300 Strange Dust. So save up 300 Strange Dust before your guardian hits level 10.

• Fellowship
At level 7 you can join a fellowship. For better progress, make sure you join a full (5 members) and active fellowship.
The higher the Battlecry of the individual members, the higher is the Fellowship Aura. (Attribute damage, armour and health as well as gold rain.)

• Guild
At level 18 you can join a guild. Like with the fellowship, you should make sure to join a full and active guild. The higher the guild, the higher the guild benefits. (Benefits via the things that have been levelled in the guild tree and through the guild level).

Hi:) Thanks, I had already read that guide which is where I got some of the ideas. Yeah, I think it's just a ...well very...long term game. It just seems to start off a bit slower than most (even other long term ones).

After a full day of playing I JUST made it to level 120 on my last run finally (but no bonuses or other unlocks at all yet for what seems like a very long time. Hope it's not all the way to 200 before I get anything else (know I get the cleric then).

I did get level 30 so can sell stuff which is nice. I also finished my 1500 double research and am just about to get tier 2 on my main character (the girl with the ice powers). I have 2 rare chests saved and 2 normal ones, but I may have to pop a rare to get my daily as I'm gonna crash soon (I won't till after I get tier 2 on that one char but would have rather saved them till I opened tier 2 on more of them, but don't wanna miss the daily and then potentially the weekly).

I am curious if the gold over time boosts (15 minutes/1 hour etc) stack with the damage boosts. I have damage boosts in scrolls and in my backpack, so if they both stack, I could potentially boost my damage significantly before using a gold over time item...which might help me jump forward a bit (not 80 levels but maybe at least more then 1 or 2).

I can see me boosting a bit further soon due to double research and the (hopefully) soon tier 2 and eventually tier 3 items, just taking awhile to get there.

Was going with coins mostly for research now I'm doing coins + damage (the actual first one), to get both high enough that I get alot out of researching them when I go to sleep.

I want the damage one because damage seems to be what allows me to go further faster. Honestly the ice girl as leader is where it's all at, none of the others really seem to matter for actually getting further. Her damage is about 10x as much as anyone else's at the same level and then her Ice Rain spell just multiplies that by a bunch and kills everything. If those don't one shot enemies then the rest of the group can't even touch em.

Still it's dog slow, especially if I really have to go all the way to 80. In theory, if I played as much every day as today, I could probably make 200 in 4 more days....and in 5 i'll have my weekly bonuses (probably) which will help alot.

I did join a fellowship and a guild which helped a tiny bit but they are both very low level (just 1 other person in both besides me). Probably missing out from not having better ones, but hopefully that isn't the reason why I'm advancing so slow.

Does every, at least early on, only advance another level or maybe 2 each prestige? That is with taking over an hour on the run and doubling my firestones. Honestly even the researches I have done don't seem to help to much, but perhaps are why I sometimes get 2 levels instead of 1.
