Online games running slow? It may not be latency, but a slow player computer!

Hey folks, we are working on making it clearer, but if you press and hold the [SHIFT] key during a game, it shows not only the pings to each player, but also if any one machine is causing a slowdown of the game - the more common reason everyon's game feels laggy and slow in general! It's one of the downsides of the way we had to implement online multiplayer, but it's outweighed by the many upsides.

We are working on ways to handle slow players, and also adding back in multi-threading in the engine which we had to disable due to determinism issues (which is necessary to have perfect for our network multiplayer to work at all).

We're also working on testing and making slow machines show up as such already in the game lobby, so hosts can boot them out before the game starts.

The issue here is that while you can see latency between players, you can't determine if one player has far weaker PC to handle frame rates than the others.

Maybe have the game run a 'benchmark' to determine your client's performance index and try to match it to other players or warn if it's too drastically different...

I'd say also list gamemodes on a performance index with 'basic Deathmatches' being the lowest and the 'racing/PvE/sandboxy' gamemodes being highest.

we are pushing a quick fix/feature for this issue right now: if a person is consistently slowing down more than 20%, the other players are able to vote them to be kicked out of the game

уважаемый разработчик вот у тебя есть файлы к игре русские иходники и тд.а где кнопка менять язык ты мне скажи пожалуйста я купил игру чтобы поиграть на русском языке но кнопки переключения между языков нет
