Concerned customer, I just want to understand.
First of all, I did read what is mentioned here so please don't just close the thread and post the same URL like you did for others: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1013040/discussions/0/1642042464737286235/

Like in your thread, I will follow the same naming to avoid any confusion:

Planetoid Pioneers = PP
Planetoid Pioneers Online = PPO

1. Why people that bought PP and supported you early (I pre-purchased it and even left a positive at the time) should pay for the Online version? Why not add Online functionality to PP? Difficult to think it's not a reboot attempt due to the not so good start and reviews for PP. I know about the Contributor Edition but still.

2. You seem to put some emphasis on the fact that both games are much different, I'm sorry but it doesn't look like it is for me. I played Planetoid Pioneers Online for a bit and yes, it's online but other than that, no difference. Yes, the "adventure" (one big but sole scene) is available in PP for a nice solo adventure but you considering that you are looking at merging Steam workshops of both games together, I personally see 0 constraint to basically reproduce the same exact content available in PP and port it to PPO. Maybe I missing something but let's say that we put in workshop an equivalent of the starting scene of PP and make it available to PPO and that's it, we have all content PP content in PPO and so we can forget and drop the support about the previous game.

3. Steam achievements are available in PPO, not in PP, why?

Thanks.

PPO is basically like what PixArk content is to Ark itself... It's a spin-off...

And unlike the Don't Starve series and Don't Starve Together games, the content are actually locked down rather than being exclusively different (DST has custom game modes, cosmetic customization, modding, dedicated server hosting, etc, over the original single player game).

Dev's point of view: Conjecture.
Realist point of view: Profits.

When a original game goes on deep discounts at times or isn't sales worthy anymore, you create a spin-off to hopefully keep the momentum going. Oh and the game is in a beta state as well soooo, 'exclusive' content to PPO isn't likely a thing yet.

Thanks, it's nice having the feedback of someone that does understand about this stuff and I also thought about the exemple of Don't Starve & Don't Starve Together, I think it's similar situation. Still, because other devs are doing it out there doesn't justify such behavior.

So far, I understand that PP offers the Crush 2D engine sandbox with a single adventure scene when PPO at the end will offer ANYTHING else you could think of (after workshop is implemented) so I don't see much point to stick to PP and that's the reason why I feel scammed.

I actually came to the forums to say this and found this guy's thread.
I'm going to put it as plainly as possible. I've been following this studio since Cortex Command and have loved them from the start. I purchased Planetoid Pioneers not only because it looked good, but because I wanted to support this team of developers.
Now, however, my impression of them is largely soured. I don't even understand why this PPO thing is it's own game instead of an expansion upon the original included with it.
But I understand even less why people who've been supporting you from the beginning should pay for PPO when the obvious right thing to do would be to GIVE it to supporters who have long been waiting for a finished product that may never be completed.

This has left a sour note on my view of this studio.
I am significantly less likely to purchase their future products because of this.

Same for me. I still got no answer to my questions and the link posted upper is the one I originally put in my thread so nothing new to me.

I no longer see a reason to still support this studio.
Anyway, I wish them good luck for their future projects.
