getting Timeshift to work
When Timeshift is finished downloading , it immediately requires that you meet it's requirements by having Gamespy Comrade to play. It will also thereby prompt you to install both Gamespy Comrade & Microsoft.Net Framework Redistributable 1.1 as a result. Once both of these are installed on your computer , you must also be able to log into Gamespy , and/or use Gamespy Comrade in order to play the game , which means your account must be up to date , or at least have corresponding informations about both : your email address and your password. If your Gamespy / Gamespy Comrade account details are inaccessible , simply create a new account with your current email and set a password. Once you have your Gamespy / Gamespy Comrade account in order , when you click on your desktop shortcut to start Timeshift , you will immediately be logged into your Gamespy account , where the game will start in 800x600 resolution , and then be set to whatever best resolution , both your monitor and video card can provide. If you still can't play Timeshift , you need to check to see if your system (processor and video card / RAM , meet the necessary requirements for the game.

You will be informed of these steps when you see your Timeshift download is complete , and you click on PLAY in the steam library. Then the system will recognize whether or not you have Gamespy and the Microsoft . Net Framework Redistributable Version 1.1 installed on your computer in 2 steps.

Yep, I'm with Zrockman. For me, it automatically installed .Net first (just like it has for many other games I have). Then it ran an install shield for the GameSpy stuff. I cancelled out at this point, but the game still runs without it. Next time I launched it wanted to do the GameSpy thing again, so I just cancelled again and the game ran OK resuming from where I had left off.

If you're not into multi-player then you don't need to do the GameSpy install as I believe it's only for multi-player.
