Age of Empires, CnC Red Alert 2, Knights and Merchants, und so weiter.
Hello Kaay
I dont think, there's a "hyperthreading" section in my bios. Specs see above. If you can point me into the right direction, i'll be very grateful.
As i mentioned above, i guess it is something the developer has broken up. If they do not scan excessivly your hardware for compability, it probably won't receive unknown values back. Values which are grown over time, and probably interpreted as "null". Other games from back in time do also work today, see list above.
I hope some "smart little mouse" is able to circumvent the hardware-scan of this pearl of a game.
You should look in the CPU section of the bios for options that refer to cores, if AMD offer the possibility to turn off the core-doubling, it should be there.
On intel cpus, turning off the hyperthreading has no negative effects in games at all, on the contrary there is a slight increase in performance.
Never used an AMD so i dont know how disabling the core-doubling technology would affect performance...if its even possible to turn it off.
Same procedure.
2. Game is starting. load "AMD Ryzen master". Create Profil with: Multithreading: OFF, deactivated cores: 4. then restart system (as stated) and install game. The 1.2 patch is probably needed, so go on trying.
Game's starting with 8 core without Multithreading, it seems to be a problem with HT in general. CPUs from 2006-2007 doesnt had any HT or similar, so this could be the problem at all.
EDIT:
12 cores without multithreading / hyperthreading won't do. So maximum core is 8 without MT/HT.
That app (ryzenmaster) seems to be one of the easiest way to manipulate the cores. So play and have fun!
Nice, thanks for your feedback. Good to know, that 8 cores is the maximum. I guess, it doesnt matter if it is 4 cores with multithreading oder 8 cores without. Don't know the tool as I didn't have had an AMD CPU since legendary AMD Athlon XP. Will edit original Thread.
