Rift respawn/resurrection timer?
I am kind of curious since idk much about it
Do the rifts have a timer/cooldown or limited use on getting more entities?

Personally I always rushed to take the rift out first because I don’t know if there is a limit to it which makes me ask tho: how quickly can rifts spawn in new enemies?

I'm not sure what the timing between Rift respawns is, but I recall hearing the thunderclap of respawns at least twice in a relatively short period of time (maybe 10-15 minutes realtime?) The number of enemies respawned is less than was in the area so if for example you get rid of 8 enemies then the Rift respawn happens, you'll get maybe 3-4 new ones.

I'm like you and tend to eliminate the Rifts early to make subsequent exploration easier, unless the Tide is coming soon and then I won't bother. It depends when I enter that map area.

It's always a good idea to take out the rift ASAP, and I'm not 100% sure but there's a option in the difficulty settings for random entities chance that MIGHT affect how fast they respawn. If that's not the case then I think it's random, I've seen it happen at random intervals, but luckily not several at once. Shortest I've seen was like 30 seconds

Rifts work in the following way :
Once an entity get killed in its area of effet, a timer is triggered, it is bewteen 90 and 180 seconds depending on the Rift.
Once the timer reaches 0 the Rift respawns the dead entity.
If other entities have been killed since, it moves on to the next one with a new timer.

These timers are hardcodded for each rift, and are not affected by settings.

Does that mean if you kill mimics outside its area of effect they stay dead?

Or is the area of effect too big for that?

I think so, when battling away from the rifts I don't see the respawn lightning trigger. I doubt its worth trying to kite enemies away though since you can just break the rift.

I am playing the stalker mod my man and I edited the settings to have even more enemies and highly increased hunger, knowing that I can bait them away gets me some use in a few maps/locations as I can just take the silencer off and take them out without respawning

Yeah in that case it might be worth it, iirc the stalker mod lowers the respawn wave interval to around 30 seconds, apart from pervomay/bolotky.
