Overall though the lightning anomalies DO need some kind of rework.
In the options change "number of enemies" to have extra enemies, it really pisses me that they are not maxed by default and that I can't increase that by enough. Wish there was an "Extreme horde apocalypse of death amount of enemies" option...
Yeah you can hit "configure" in your options and change quite a few different settings, although some only take into effect after a tide change. There's a setting for "random anomalies" and if you can't be bothered with anomalies in general (I personally find the maze miniqame tedious and boring) you can also lower their damage.
A couple versions back the lightning anomalies were bugged so it was impossible to navigate this field and the one in bolotki village, but it has since been fixed.
If you really need to get past a lightning anomaly with no safe route through you can try throwing an unprimed but damaged (red condition) grenade into it, let the anomaly shock the grenade so it explodes. This 'kills' the anomaly
the problem was that the artifact was in what seemes to be a circle of electric anomalys i couldnt get to it by any means and just wasted a bunch of med pens
btw. it has to be a problem with the anomaly itself cos i play with random anomalys off
Just running inside attempting to defuse them by throwing probes is a stupid idea. You are just going to get your corpse in an unreachable position and lose all the gear. Especially in Iron Man mode, but it wouldn't really work also without it, not there, they are too compact and close to each other.
Next time I play I want to try by throwing grenades and see if that really works.
