2) Spawn are the worst when they surprise you - don't be caught dead on stamina, and when you hear them try and find them first. They will either circle you, or stop and look - then come for you. They are a little unpredictable, but they will always jump at you when in range.
3) Be aware of your surroundings.
When they get close, start a sprint in any direction that DOESN'T have anomalies. Be aware of your environment. When they jump, while you're sprint-dodging look for them where they land -and either end them with a pistol or sks bayonet or - my fav, knife them.
When facing multiple spawn, keep dodging until the last one jumps and go for it - quickly. Spawn faceplant when they miss, and get stuck for a few seconds - if they don't miss they get on their feet and attack again a lot faster. Don't let them do that.
Also, even if you're using a silenced weapon, the bullet isn't - unless you paid extra for subsonic rounds. Using regular rounds with a silencer can still attract more enemies, and yeah, probably more spawns.
Knives are silent, cheap and throwable. Keep one handy. Or two.
As Scriptus says, listen. Almost all enemies have a specific sound they make that will warn you that they are around. Spawns are no different, and you usually can spot them before they attack.
You can't flat-out outrun a spawn. You will run out of stamina before they stop. That doesn't mean that you can't run, but running should be to break line of sight and prepare.
