Suggestion - Carry Bag as extra storage
I am really enjoying this game, but one thing that I wish is that I had portable storage to stay out longer. I think a great solution would be a carry bag that works like another backpack storage but long enough for rifles.
You could carry it like you do the black boxes and drop it at a safe house or where-ever you setup camp. That way you can load up loot into the carry bag and continue exploring without having to lug it all around. It would still be a slow walk back carrying a full bag but at least you could drop it if you got in trouble!
it'd nice if you could fold it up when its empty and store it in the backpack, or on the side. That way you could head out with some supplies in your backpack and the bag folded up and set up when find somewhere safe near your objective

You can already more-or-less do this already. Items are mostly permanent unless there are glitches, so they will be in the Zone when you return to it. I sometimes use the boxes in safehouses to store extra stuff. For example, I've stashed a spare pistol, ammo, some food, and energy drinks in selective safehouses to use as emergency caches.

In principle, there's nothing stopping you from stashing loot in safehouses to trudge back at the end. I've not specifically tried it like you are suggesting, but it's worth a shot.

The problem is you can only carry back so much, and overloading yourself can be dangerous if you can hardly move as a result of everything your carrying. I think it would add a nice addition to the role playing aspect along with being functional and helpful

So if I'm reading this right, you want a carry bag that you can "insta dump" and pick up later if needed? It would still be a slow and dangerous walk if you're loaded up to 50 kg+. I don't think I'd want to actually break or get around the weight limit that's in the game, so one technique would be to clear out a route on the way in, and follow it on the way out. Slower than walking off the map "up north" but AFAIK, enemies normally don't respawn until you exit and return to the Zone. So this way your snail's pace walk back with your 90kg would be reasonably safe :)
