So far, not worth the price tag because i just picked it up myself and not that impressed, but maybe i need to play longer for things to spice up.. but i will say, it's hard to get passed some of the glitches in just the start.. (ladder climbing / Crouching then standing underneath something will allow you to stand and see through stuff.. picking up world objects doens't actually go in your hands but floats, and throwing knives is absolutely atrocious.) if you come from a triple A title like alyx or even boneworks, some things are really hard to look passed. hoping it gets better and able to look passed silly things like that.

After playing with some of the guns on the firing range, that feels nice, and the game has potential, like i said, few rough patches at first it may get better , the game is very vague on what you should do. if you're bored, i'd try it.

Thanks, you kinda killed it for me when you said when pciking stuff just floats instead of actually grabbing it, kind of immersion breaking for a game based on immersion.

Anyone else want to chime in

Well if you want a game where you can pick up and break every teacup, make finger gestures at enemies or flush toilets then Into the Radius is not a game for you. If you want realistic guns, survival-horror experience in a grim setting then welcome. Just the tutorial sequence is a bit too long now .And you can always refund it.

Cheeky, but a game about immersion has to have attention to detail, since that the selling point of this game.

And I do believe this game will take more than 2 hours to explore which is beyond the refund policy.

At first I did not purchase this game when it first became available on steam. There are many games that get "released" on steam that fall into the category of "Hey do you like X game? This is that game in VR!". Then they are never updated and the developer moves onto the next one. I was thinking this game might be one of those.

I was wrong, This game has changed since its initial release and with every update it improves more. I have enjoyed many tense/scary/exciting moments in just the 16 hours I have played it . Plus I have not even gone into the upper half of the map.

If you are interested in Stalker the movie, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. the game or A Roadside Picnic the Book. I recommend this game to you.

I am heavily hooked due to the fact, that it delivers the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. feeling.
I couldnt finish for example any Metro games, because it just doesnt have the same touch and was waiting for ages to get something closer to the old series.
This is spot on, also never had issues with picking stuff up.
There are some minor bugs here and there, wont deny that, but gunplay is FANTASTIC and the further you get the better it gets.
Also each weapon I tried so far feels great, each weapon has purpose and each ammo is important, including weapon mags.

Also its definetly worth the pricetag, especially thinking about how many hours I already spent on it compared to nonvr AAA titles.
I did not try Alyx or boneworks yet, but those seem goofy to me in the presentation and therefore not appealing at all.

i bought it at launch and it was a bit rough thinking dayz standalone from day 1 but this game has grown heaps it was never going to compete with something like Alyx but it is very well presented with a simple art style that fits the bleak spareness of the radius. its not about the world being intereactable but the items do behave well enough to be fun.

setting up your base and placing all your loot around really add to the immersion and object permanence, i love games that let you drop stuff including weapons. to me it sets the stage in the concept of self and not the self to me Alyx just did not hit this mark but it wasnt going for that, it was going for playability/ease of application.

its a game that requires alot of planning, it has a souls like system where if you die you can recover lost items and storing stuff in your backpack is fun and stressful at times and thats part of the game's shtick . maybe not be everybody's cup of tea but it is pretty good

Theres no real penalty to dying?
Perfect Gnome Oct 30, 2020 @ 9:03pm
on hardcore you lose the stuff in your backpack.

Turns out i was STUCK in tutorial and had no idea.... my game was supposed to load when crossing the foggy bridge and it didn't.. after reloading into the real game, it's good... it's good.. now you have to manually load your clips with teh bullets.. i bought a whole clip wondering wtf i got 1 bullet.. i'd recommend trying this game. lol. when you die on regular, all your stuf scatters on the ground you can pick it up.

XD ffs... Yeah, tutorial got me annoyed tbh, but it sadly is necessary to understand the controls.

The open world is the point when stuff actually gets interesting.

Yes there is, either you drop your backpack or all your inventory (depending on your difficulity level). You can still pick it up, but I think just for a limited time. So I always have items in base to be able to reach the deathspot in emergencies.

Do you loose it forever, or just dropping it on "normal"-mode (hardmode)?
Perfect Gnome Oct 31, 2020 @ 9:59am
hardcore = stuff in backpack is gone. Stuff on your body will just drop on the ground.
Normal = everything just drops on the ground.(I have never actually played on normal, I think this is what happens)

Hardcore and normal?
