Running the games in 4:3 instead of 16:9
EDIT: Solved my own problem! Look at the bottom for easy steps on how to run your games in their native (original) aspect ratios on a 16:9 monitor.

I'm so happy that these have finally been released (again) on Steam, and in one package too. However, when I launch them on my widescreen monitor, they stretch to fill the entire screen instead of letterboxing the sides to keep the original 4:3 aspect ratio. I know I might be in the minority of people who care about this kind of thing, but does anyone have any ideas for how to get the game to run in at the correct aspect ratio on a widescreen monitor? I've hunted through the game's files (KQVI specifically) and can't find any editable resolution settings, since it's seems to be solely governed through the DOSbox wrapper that opens when you launch any of the games - however, unlike normal DOSbox, I can't find a way to configure settings.

Any help at all would be appreciated! I can't wait to experience these games again, but not being able to adjust the aspect ratio (or even play in a resizeable window mode instead of fullscreen) is going to affect my enjoyment overall. I'm not a DOSbox master by any means, so if I'm missing something obvious, please point it out.

-------------------------------------------------------

I probably should've done some more hunting around before posting, but hopefully this'll help people who are sticklers for aspect ratio like me. PLEASE NOTE these steps are only for the new NON-LEGACY versions.

1. Navigate to steamapps\common\King's Quest Collection\2016_KingsQuestCollection\kqX\DOSBOX, where X is the number of the game you want to correct the resolution for.
2. Open dosboxKGX.conf in that folder using Notepad.
3. Change fullresolution=original to fullresolution=fixed
4. Save the file.
5. Repeat this process for all games you want to configure.

Your NON-LEGACY versions of the games will now launch in their original old-school aspect ratios!

Thanks for the help! However I had to change "aspect=false" to "aspect=true" to get results.

I do GPU scaling so this occurs for all games without the need to edit.

I play these in a window anyway.
