So it contains both versions of KQ1? SCI & AGI?
Yup.

This (updated 2016) collection installs next to a "Legacy" installation which has the SCI version of KQ1. In order to run it you will need to download and install the King's Quest Collection DOSBox Update[http//King%27s+Quest+Collection+DOSBox+Update] (KQCollectionDBUpdate) (EXE file) [1.62 MB] from the bottom of the linked page.
You could you use ScummVM to play KQ1-6
Good point. I sometimes forget that ScummVM does more than run LucasArts games these days.
Correct.[i.imgur.com]
You should be able to find the original version of KQ1 in the 2016_KingsQuestCollection folder inside the Steam\SteamApps\common\King's Quest Collection folder. The latter of which contains the SCI version of KQ1.
The AGD Interactive versions are not part of the KQ Collection.
There has never been an official remake of KQ3, so no.
You can get the fan remake from AGD Interactive though.

All the AGD remakes I've played are solid and true to the originals.
