Also, while player's max lvl is 199, you'll need to upgrade your equipment for the endgame stuff, because enemy's max lvl is 999.
in the beginning of the game once the big tree is knocked down and the duo decide to head south for military training i want to say in the first or second zone there is a quarry pit in the southeastern area of the map, in the pit is a cave that has a treasure chest in it with some very high powered bugs and like a level 40 queen bee or something like that. if you grind up to beat that uberbug right when you have the first opportunity to see it before doing anything else in the tutorial section of the game and while it is just kirito and uegeo as party members, maybe red too? i forget precisely. but very early in the game. will it wholly unbalance the rest of the game? is power creep based on level skills or gear? reading the changelog the original level cap was 50, and this foe is like level 40 so obviously its endgame content, or at least endgame to the first edition base content.
Been easily downing 50+ level enemies just exploiting the basic down + chain burst mechanics.
is there a grind then?
Yes, grind in this game is huge, added on top of the massive amount of content it already has.
Also the most fun part to coop around.
Sadly it's the part most people stop playing and move on.
