Disk Write Error
Everytime this game has an update I have to uninstall it and re download it for the update to download, does anyone have any idea why I get a disk write error whenever a new update comes out?

My game has never crashed though, there's no reason for it to have a disk write error, considering I can update and install any other game I want to on Steam mean while the SAO AL continues to have this error.

just check your game folder and see if there is a dmp files filing it. the game tends to create them even if it doesn't crash.

I ended up finding one dmp file and deleted it and it still has the same problem.

Do you have enough storage capacity? The last update for this game required approximately 91 GB of available storage... ~38 GB for the game itself, ~7 GB for the update, and ~45 GB for it to unpack and repack the archive...

You could also try clearing SAO AL related assets out of the 'downloading' and 'temp' folders...

X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\...

The update process by creating temporary data with size as big as the game after update (45gb for this update) then it downloads the actual update file (almost 8gb).
Try check if you still have at least 55gb free memory.

dmp file appear everytime the game crashed, the size is between 3gb-4gb.

I think that's my problem, I kind of find this process a bit.. confusing and don't understand why it's necessary but it kind of makes sense. I'll just have to keep that in mind from now on. Thanks Rayne and Velmoria.

My anti-virus was causing these disk write errors. I ended up changing AV and the errors have stop.
