Worth getting at the 80% discount?

been looking at reviews and discussions in here and it pretty much screams never touch this at full or even half price, so just wondering if the game is worth getting even at the current steep discount.

Do you care about SAO? Did you play previous games and interested about gameverse story?
Do you like bad graphics, mediocre main story and VERY bad story in paid DLCs, repeating gameplay with A LOT of grinding in the endgame?
Just answer these questions. If there will be more yes than no - you can try it. Though if you were a real SAO fan (not trying to offend or something), you've already bought it, right? If you are doubting about making this decision, imo, it's more no than yes.

only if you like grinding games cuz the end game require a lot of grinding and preparing

Not worth. Wait for the 90 % discount. This game is a cutscene / loading simulator. The "good" gameplay starts after the main story, but then its still a loading simulator, cause of skipping cutscenes and long loading times.

No just no, even at 90% discount I will say no, we need to stop buying bad games to encourage developer to develop good game in the future.

This is just their way to get more cash, the game has failed since release and only SAO avid fans try to defend it

80% discount I'd say its kind of worth it. Gameplay is good when progressing through the story, then once you get to the endgame it becomes a slog cause of ♥♥♥♥ grind and bosses locked behind accuracy checks and billions of HP. Base game story will vary on whether you like it or not, after that the dlc stories are just ok. Also be prepared for the story pacing, cause its 85%% visual novel cutscenes and 15% gameplay. At the very least there is alot of content here, the quality of it is questionable however. If you like Black Desert Online's grind then you'll most likely like Alicization Lycoris' content and grind.

i played for like 500+ hours, so all i can say is its fun at the beginning. however, in my opinion, the recent blooming forgot-me-not dlc is a pure disaster. The reason is that every dialog, every scene, every 2-3 lines of conversation, every traveling, every fight, you will have to go through a 15-30 seconds loading screen. after that dlc, i straight uninstall the game.

on the bright side, its 80% off, you can always buy and try playing it for an hour. if the game is not what you expecting, then you can refund it.

Personally I'd say do your research and reach your own conclusions.
I looked at posts on steam, reddit, gameplay videos and decided I liked the combat side enough to purchase at the previous 70% discount.

Edit* I don't even watch the anime, still enjoying the combat despite the grind

Yes, of course. If you're a SAO fan you will enjoy the game despite the graphic issues. The best of the game is build up your pj and grindy in coop online the endgame.

id say buy it, even at full price. people are just little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because they dont like 1 thing about the game and then the whole game is bad, sure the latest dlc is tedious and annoying but everything else is gold. ive also seen people saying gun gale is 200% better, thats only if you like the worst season the whole show, but sure dont get it cuz people overreact when something bad happens in their life
