Character creation?

Alright, am I forced to play with Kirito, or I can create and customize my character to play the main story just like the other SAO games?

I'm kinda sad with this game, they promised soo much but delivered soo little.

You're not entirely forced to play kirito. You're able to switch characters on ur journey (at the beginning, Kirito and Eugeo)
I think the Custom Character is tied to multiplayer

After you finished the first chapter you can change the appearence of Kirito in your room :)
