Game won't open after installing

After I finished installing the game, I click play on Steam and it says: 'Running install script (Punkbuster anti cheat) and the game wont start.

Any help?

Verify integrity of game files by going to game properties menu via Steam.

What worked for me is that when you start the game, you get a message from Steam if you let this program make changes to your computer with the options "yes" and "no". Selecting no will start the game, skipping the installation part.

Once the game has ran once, you can start it up again and select yes, this time it will install punkbuster (at least it did for me).

Sorry for necro but I'm having the same issue. I tried the above suggestions but verified files did nothing and I was never prompted about the changes as I have UAC settings pretty lax.

EDIT: The Punkbuster opens behind Steam, but doesn't initially show on the taskbar so you would never think it is there. Just minimize everything in the center of the screen to see it.

@DrCrip, no problem, ya thankfully I stumbled across that Reddit post with the same issue, otherwise I would have never guessed Punkbuster was open.
