Where achievements?

I know COD 4 also doesn’t have them, but where are they? They’re clearly still programmed into the game. Whenever you reach round 15 in Shi No Numa, Dempsey shouts “how freakin sweet is that” as if you just got the achievement.

From what I heard, WaW used to have achievements, then it got taken off Steam and then put back on later without achievements.

I don’t need to have them, it’s still my favorite game of all time. I just don’t get why they’re gone even though the game itself still counts them.

Rather that rumour is true or not about the whole "use to have them but got taken out" it's very questionable however from my prospective due to it being made back in 2008 pc base players were no where near as populated as they are now so due to consoles being the most common platform back then they gave them achievements/trophies another thing to point out is the developer console pc has so the developers probably thought ahead and seen people would use that to cheese their way through all the achievements my source to back this theory up is that bo1 doesn't have the developer console option but has achievements. As for the dialogue that plays indicating an achievement has been earned I think that is just a script that triggers they most likely added a scripted dialogue that plays when you hit an achievement when they were developing the map in fact in the audio files of shi no numa and der riese you can find those scripted dialogue files for yourself
