Multiplayer Hackers/Viruses
Recently I heard that you need certain mods or programms to prevent hackers when playing CoD: WaW online. I have about 10-20 hours in the Multiplayer and nothing ever happened.
Is this really an issue or not?
thanks

No, it's not. The CVE exploits everyone is talking about doesn't affect this game in any way.
No this game is safe

Plutonium WaW multiplayer is dead af just checked today, so steam is best way to play

Yes, it is.
Despite popular opinion, this game isn't safe.

Its built on the original quake 3 engine much like all cods and as such has several ancient exploits that still work, one of which allows people to rat/cve your pc, in other words, have full control.
The reason why most haven't been hacked yet is because waw compared to other cods is fairly obscure, and most who play are hardcore og cod fans who dont hack and just wanna enjoy the game.

Unless your popular online, you should be fine, just be wary the risk is still there.

Virus??? There has not been a real virus for winblows since service pack 2 came out for XP.

And the silly thing is all so called antiviruses are in fact viruses themselves.

It's a fact, the game (WaW) is fine, period. If it makes you feel any better download a trusted anti-malware software.

This game should be fine. Modern Warfare 2/3, Ghosts, Black Ops 1/2 and Advanced Warfare are the affected titles.

Even the guy who said it was unsafe said no one will use RCE

Just play the damn game

If you use plutonium does this remove the risks for older games?
