Not Able to Call in an Airstrike

While playing a number of American Missions, I've noticed that in certain areas, especially on the "Breaking Point" mission, after pressing 6 to activate the radio, when I press the Left Mouse Button pointing at the Structure to the North, all I do is back peddle. No Airstrike. No nice explosions. Just move backwards a few steps.

This has occurred on a couple of maps. Previous map, all I had to do was start over and ensure that I did not call an airstrike other than for the first one at the tree line at the start of the map, then wait until I encountered the two tanks. Apparently the map only let you call "3" Airstrikes and no more. On Breaking Point, there is no chance to call an airstrike until this point. I have restarted the level 7 or 8 times now, with no change. I Just Can Not Call an F'n Airstrike. I'm constantly ducking Banzai attacks and hiding behind cover from the constant Japanese attacks.

So far, I've enjoyed this game. Until Now!

Anyone know of a fix for this?

it looks like that was indeed a common problem for some people playing that mission. I found a discussion on internet that was created 12 years ago; and apparently the fix is either restarting the mission, or turning off trainers if you use any (or maybe disabling cheats if you use them via developer console).
