if you built your PC just recently or it's the first time trying to play cod: waw on that PC, you can try updating your audio drivers. you can go to motherboard manufacturer's website and there find the most up-to-date version of audio driver, compatible with your motherboard's model.
that's the last potential fix in my mind and can't help any further if it doesn't work. this game has always been weird: some people play it without issues for years, whereas some people can't even start it once.
