Multiplayer
do people still play multiplayer or is it hacker infested?

servers are mostly for team deathmatch as game mode and they're located either on north america or europe, so you may have unplayable pings if you live elsewhere. cheaters are actually rare and it's possible to play fair games in servers where admins monitor closely. numbers may depend on time (if weekend, holiday, morning, evening etc.); but I would say around ~150 players and ~15 populated servers exist at any time. keep in mind that multiplayer of this game is played on dedicated servers where admins can customize the ruleset and dictate them. I've seen many people not knowing this and getting surprised when they get warned or even temporarily kicked by admins, when in certain servers those players insist on playing as if there are no rules, just like they do on p2p lobbies of ps3/x360 consoles. certain servers may have various rules, including but not limited to; crouch-only, no camping, some restrictions on perks etc.

Played waw since 2008, both pc and console, surprising no hackers on pc compared to console likely cuz no hacks exist and game is just super old whereas it was easier to mod on ps3
just make sure you play like a noob otherwise admins might kick or ban you

No hackers on PC. A few use a controller to get aim assist but they get kicked pretty quickly. I'd suggest playing on the PDElite servers, active players 24/7 and at least 20 players on each server at all time.

if you're talking about co-op server list (for zombies), then it's broken and usually doesn't show many of the actual lobbies.

if you're talking about multiplayer server list, then make sure the "source" setting at top of that screen is set as "internet". additionally, you can select "filter servers" on server list and click on "reset", so the available servers aren't limited for you.

if none of the above worked, then go to windows firewall programs list and make sure that CoD: WaW has exceptions to interact online.
