A remastered WAW can still be better than WW2 if done by Treyarch again.
WAW was made by Treyarch, they make good stuff. Sledgehammer games never made a good COD. NEVER.
And yes that is anecdotal un-scientific proof. It's my opinion, and they screwed up MW3 and WW2. I remember selling my MW3 not long after release and got only $3 for it at gamestop because everyone was trading that turd in. So I suppose the large volume of MW3 trade-ins soon after release can be your scientific proof. Also the very very very very very very poor WW2 rating on steam is also scientific proof that their latest game is just as bad as a turd on a white carpet.
Developers that suck: Sledgehammer Games, keep that in mind. Followed by Infinity ward as second suckiest.
Infinity Ward is not as bad. They did give us COD 4 MW and COD MW 2 but since then it's been a turd show of disappointing titles. However I did grow to like Infinity Warfare for its space simulation and a few multiplayer game play features, it still doesn't bring them back to their MW2 graces.
They went and founded Respawn which makes the Titanfall franchise.
I have only played TitanFall 2 Beta and loved it. High replayability. Got busy with work and forgot to purchase the full version.
How do I know? Look at COD4 Remastered. It is a console duplicate, no PC features. Yes, it was made by a diff company, but none of the COD devs support PC anymore. They haven't for over 5 years now. Treyarch did take the lead as the top dev and I actually liked them during COD3, but this lack of PC support is across all COD devs.
Those games have negative reviews on Steam for a reason. People are tired of the bs.
At least on a console hackers arent so bad.
Unfortunately I pray for the day the console dies. For good reason. And I own consoles that I like. (PS4 pro and Xbox 360)
I just don't like how console and the gamers on that platform are being treated by publishers and some devs. Unfortunately those issue trickle down to PC players as well.
By design the consoles biggest flaw is designed as a cash grab.
It limits you on features which saves them $ by making development easier. It limits you on where you buy games which creates lack of price competition making them more $. And then there are those dumb costumers who pre-order to give publishers the money way before the game is even out. That allows publishers to take your $ and get away with producing and selling incomplete experiences because costumers are too stupid and pay in advance without knowing what they buy.
Back in the day we did not have these problems. If a game was crap few ppl bought or it was pirated. In fact pirating can help demand better quality out of games by letting players trying before buying. And sometimes pirated games increase production for example if its good on PC and got it free but your mates are on console. Then the publishers makes money from you getting your mates to purchase the game on console so you can all play.
The day pirating dies, it's another bad day for game quality from that stand point. Wont be able to try before you buy.
Now to go back on the main topic.
Last but not least, as long as consoles are the top platform in revenue, it will ruin the game market for everybody including PC gamers that get not only the bad console ports, but also watered down games that were designed with console limits and stupid pre-pay customers in mind.
it's just such a dire state of affairs in gaming. But there are good devs and publishers out there pushing away from this trend.
Games that still offer the PC experience: Skyrim original (not remaster), Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Dying light. GTA 5. There are more... but those are the few that come to mind as being successful in their core ideas from development, to implementation and marketting.
