Is multiplayer dead?

I've been trying to find online matches in connected mode, for over a week now, but all of the rooms never have players join. it doesn't show anyone else playing online either.
usually before i pick which mode i want to play, i see other people floating around the world and it shows the gamer tags and SR.

is this a bug or does noone play anymore?

There's plenty of Connected matches being played daily, the game's absolutely not dead. Area 1 and 5 are the most common to lobby up in as well, it's kinda rare to see area 2/3/4 just since people want to play the entire mode or just the final challenge.

As for the technical side, make sure you've got crossplay enabled for a larger pool of players, and check that the game isn't being blocked by your firewall. You can also check the Enhance discord for community advice or for private rooms with harder challenges, or send through a ticket in the pinned message in the Steam Forums.

I got it figured out. Apparently validating files helped, even though none were corrupt. Thank you for your help. It's appreciated 😊

It largely depends on the time of day and whether or not it's a week day, generally I can find a group on any given day but the game is certainly more active after work hours for EU/US and moreso on weekends when people are off work.

Usually I have to wait a little bit, just tab out and keep checking back periodically.
You can also join the Effect discord, they have a channel specifically for finding groups to play with, just say which Area you're waiting in and people will usually join up.
