Mostly consists of 2v2, with there also being a 3-player Connected mode, where, together, you fight against a boss, alternating between individual and joined/connected playing fields; brilliant game mode, really.
There's even a 4-player versus variant of the aforementioned mode, in which the fourth player plays as the boss/enemy. HUGE fun, albeit strangely this game mode's been made only accessible on some weekends, for 24 hours… yeh, idk.
Also missing is a 4-player classic marathon or even "hot potato" or versus mode, as seen in "The New Tetris"—really was the best one! Tetris Effect: Connected has so much potential, the likes of which is being intentionally held back.
