$30 for Tetris, no matter how jazzed up it is, is not appealing
When I saw this, I clicked it thinking it would be fun to play Tetris again and expected it to be around $5, maybe $10 as a new release.

But $30 for a Tetris revamp with some pretty graphics, new modes and a multiplayer is just insane. We're talking about an almost half-century-old game that most of us got bundled with Gameboys in the 80s and played primarily on the toilet whilst dropping deuces.

You can buy pretty versions of Tetris on Google Play and the App Store for a couple bucks these days as well.

The new graphics are pretty, the new game modes look fun, and the competitive element is cool, but I don't know how a $30 price tag is justified when some huge open-world games with long development times cost that much or less on sale.

I'd love to try this game, but not at this price point.

Sorry to tell you how wrong you are, in my opinion.

If you want to spend your money and time on a 'google play' tetris go ahead. Whip out your game boy or switch and hang out on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

This is a great original soundtrack (Had to pay artists), flawless VR support (had to pay 2nd VR development team), and yes the pretty art (had to pay artists AND animatiors). All of which COSTS MONEY.

Porting game boy tetris for the millionth time does not cost as much money. No new assets, no new development: basically an asset flip into a new engine.

Games cost money, and more original concepts (even ones with an IP you already know) cost more money.

Besides, if you want to play a game but you can't afford it because of your budget: you can always go chill at r/patientgamers .

They appreciate the time and money that goes in to a game, but are content with waiting up to several years in order to play it at a price point THEY can afford.

Good luck with your future game purchases, as well as your budgeting concerns.

you can try it on Xbox game pass,
Have you actually played it? If not then your words are useless. I thought it was not appealing looking and "samey" until I actually played it at a friends house. This is not the Tetris of the past. This version is amazing. How you play affects the music and background....etc. The music is amazing. Each level has new themes and sound. This is far more then just Tetris.

I threw my wallet at my monitor, then purchased it. j/k Even though I have it for XBox. I truly believe this game is worth its advertising price, espeically with the DLC added in.

I do agree that it should be around the 15-20 bucks mark max... waiting a year because epic payed was already a lot... And even tho I love tetris and i love this game I don't see myself paying that much especially after they took the money from that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a company that is epic and the china ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that owns them.
Well, he said it himself. It's not worth this price to him, and that's fine. No one is losing out on anything except for maybe the OP.

Me, I would have paid $60 for this on launch (if they actually released it on Steam on launch and not PS4).

We all value things differently.

It is actually $40 but on sale right now for $30. I also will be waiting for it to go on a better sale. The current price tag isn't worth the nostalgic factor I would be getting if I would purchase this title. If this is your cup of tea by all means, don't let me stop anyone from enjoying this title. I will not begrudge those that find the current price point worth it. Do whatever it is that makes you happy. After all that is the whole point in playing these titles anyways. We don't play them to make others happy. :white_pearl:

I disagree completely. Everything about this game from its graphics, music, and atmosphere, pulled me in and its challenging.

I'm not very good at this myself but I've had more fun playing this than most triple A title games that people hyped about. Furthermore, its being discounted at launch. Compare this to triple A title games which are slowly creeping towards $69.99, not even counting the DLC attached and most games that average $59.99. I'd say this is a steal.

I mean It's not Tetris Ultimate, which is a deal for me

Just thought this was a little funny. This guy is playing Lego Ninjago at the time of this post lol. Lego games aren't bad. I just find the modern ones all extremely boring and basically the same thing with a different skin.

Some Chess sets are more expensive than others even though they all play exactly the same and follow the same rules.

in Argentina, the game costs $3.39 ...
agreed. other companies have made far better tetris-style games, with a 3d grid to work with that requires actual thought and skill. this looks like yet another of the copy/pasted clones of the first tetris that have been put out over the years by random companies as the IP jumps from person to person. i expect a bit more for my money then a rehash of a rehash of some 20-30 official rehashes that all work more or less the same as the NES game.

even tetris 3d for the virtual boy is better than another rehash of the same 2d grid theyve been rehashing for 30 or so years.

You can play Tetris for free in your browser. I don't see the point of this game.
