Becoming "The Marriage" undone after saving the game?

Playing as Enki, the dark priest, I did the deed with a ghoul and became The Marriage and then I was playing for a bit, found the crow statue bed, slept in it to save my game and closed the game because I was done for the night. Booting it up again a few days later and I see that I am reverted back to Enki and down one ghoul. Looking it up, I don't see anybody talking about it, nor does it say in the wiki that this is an intentional part of the functions as Marriage. So I'm assuming I encountered an unfortunate bug- or am I stupid and that is something that's supposed to happen lol

I've never encountered this, but if you could send me the saves I could look at the games code and find out why maybe
