Anyone modding this game?
i like the dark priest character, currently doing a kill everything and everyone run (not moonless) and the necromancy is good and all BUT...

how is it ghouls cannot equip any weapons etc but a flesh-less, skinless skeleton can? why can i reanimate a literal pile of bones and a rotten zombie corpse, but i cant bring back a slightly wounded knight or any kind of base human? or can you reanimate them and im just missing how to do it?

any one know any modders or is there any values in game an amateur could edit to fix these issues?

Hello there, how would i find your mod? searching mods in the discussions here shows up two mods the girl mod and multiplayer mod and a bunch of people askin for mods XD

would you be willing to look into the ghoul issue for me? i can handle the not been able to necromancy people as its balancing, limited recruitment numbers you can get etc but would you be able to do a mod that allows the ghoul to equip armour and weapons like the skeleton can and link me it please? dont know much about modding this, but might be a simple case of copying some code from skeleton character or even just changing a "can equip armour and weapons" value to yes on the ghoul

edit: ok im stupid, just clicked on the girl mod and seen your the maker haha didnt notice as that wasnt what i was searching for

The armor one would probably be easy to do, but I'll let you know.
Necromancy on normal charactewrs ill have to learn how necromancy works and find out from there.

really im only beggin for the ability to equip ghouls with weapons and armour and would appreciate that, but if you also wanna give a try at fixing up necromancy aswell that would be awesome thanks.

I think the in-game / lore explanation is that ghouls are simply more weak and stupid undead. They still have latent memories and feelings trapped in their 'mindless' spirits, and maybe the flesh gets torn off easily and makes them sloppy, and so on.
Meanwhile skeletons have been dead a long time, they are more 'true' and 'hardcore' manifestations of undeath and the old gods, more coherent and capable.
There isn't anything official about this, just my guess.
Wouldn't hurt to make ghouls more useful though.

yeah i could buy some thing like that, the inherent evil of the dungeons, slowly corrupting the dead with its own weak and incoherent form of necromancy, it gets stronger the less flesh and brain and lingering memories of the soul there are, the more the dark and rot can control their feeble remnants.

Still don't explain why they cant pick up a pointy stick and go brrrrrrrrr or the fact they get all the injuries (food poisoning worms poisen i think and bleeding) that a normal living character would get XD or even that skeletons can have their mind meter go down despite the lack of a brain XD

i'd love to see this game remade in another engine bigger team, less bugs more features include a prologue fall of the dungeons bit/ expand on the lore etc, didnt much like the look of the second one with the more modern daytake

in terms of party members being revivable, I figured out how, but I will not do it because it would require an unnecessary amount of work because of the way the game is designed. I would have to change code for each possible teammate in each possible map, so wayyyy too much.

Curious though with the revivable issue, did you just look into making the party members ex: dark priest knight etc revivable through necromancy once they die? and it was too much work, would that be the same case for non playible npcs you can never recruit into your party such as the wounded knight near the iron Shakespeare, or Lord Ludwig Buckman etc the other party of that entered the dungeon before you?

Those characters don't have battle sprites or certain sprite animations or certain stats, so doing that would require a lot of work as well. not particularly something I want to do.

from reading what you've typed trying to mod in a way to "resurrect" them as party members unchanged to join you/revivible when they die, yeah i can see how complicated that would be XD few of them were never ment to be playible so you'd have to make a whole bunch of assets. was thinking you were more trying to enable the same generic necromancy that the dark priest uses at certain skeleton spots and on ghoul npcs when they fall in battle, so you just get a generic ghoul?

either way looking forward to the link for the ghoul weapons and armour mod :D pity there isnt a workshop for this game

so the issue with that would be the same as before. in each individual map there is a corpse for each possible party member that gets teleported on screen when they die. I would have to edit each specific corpse on each map. The necromancy code itself isn't hard at all, its already exists and would be a copy paste. I just really don'tr wanna spend a long time copy and pasting.
