Theres nothing really amazing about it no offense, i dont see a reason for this to be in the game. I could easily use the stock fireaxe which (again, no offense) looks better and suits pyro more

bro... that's a video to demonstrate the model. To do that, you have to make it a reskin. Contributors do not make stats. Valve does. Do NOT judge items based on demonstration videos. The workshop is for models. Judge the models.

like what, it already has much more prominent grain, the implication that the handle makes it too similar is a ridiculous one.

Obviously the curvature is going to be similar, it needs to match his animations. And it's wood, so I don't know what else to say :V It's not going to have some ornate carvings, that's not the kind of thing that you'd logically do with a wood axe.

nice job on the model and the texture is pretty spot on as far as tf2 style. people who are saying this is to simple for tf2 just cant appreciate how nice a simple design can be. abraham lincoln vampire hunter was great too :D

Yes, in the video, it is a model replacement for the axtinguisher. We don't create stats, Valve does, so we release our models as mods for client use. Mario's demonstration is not meant to show off stats but rather how it looks in game.

Not everything needs a gimmick. Look at the new Scout and Sniper weapons. They're very similar to the weapons they replace.

With this item being a wood axe (which is an entirely different kind of axe) and having a different color scheme and identifiable head, I'd say it's unique enough.
