Am I missing something? You leave the box next to the orange portal, shoot blue in the next room and get the box

I know it is a reproduction of a portal campange map.
but if you want to improve it ?
I think it would be better,
if you close the hole above the fizzler & put glass around the orange portal.
it still won't be hard. but it might cause the player to think a little.
& also eliminate two other ways of completing it.

You should have added some new gameplay tweaks as valve did to the broken chambers to keep it chellenging while maintaining nostalgia.

By placing the cube by the orange portal and going to the other room and shooting a portal there.

One thing I see that most people don't notice is that you can solve chamber 9 without the hole in the wall.
