Cool, but ruined by some csat hidden somewhere that don't let me take the city, or maybe a bug.

attack never came...
N.1.c.0 Apr 4, 2016 @ 4:41am
Enjoyed it, but not able to complete the mission as the counter attack never came - ended up roaming all over the northern hills. Found some enemy infantry, killed them - still not finished. Guess they are out there somewhere?
vlad_8011 Feb 21, 2016 @ 6:21am
No support available, cannot finish it, after killing 2 snipers next to the minefield mission is FAILED.
djol Nov 25, 2015 @ 4:19am
Hi. Nice setting. Lack polish. Script errors on reload. Unable to finish it. The counter attack never came after a reload. BTW there is an option to display script error in mission. Thanks for the work.
R3vo Jun 21, 2015 @ 1:45pm
Well build mission, one could think it was build by BIS. Only critique would be that it was to easy, the helicopter did most of the job.
BimC Apr 27, 2015 @ 12:38pm
Thank you Ubiquitous. Loved the mission as I loved it in Arma II. But the counter attack don't start when town is secured. Moved 300 m north and engaged an enemy patrol, but still won't end the mission. Any suggestions?
timokujansuu Mar 31, 2014 @ 11:51am
Very nice mission, the only "strategic" mission i've played (commanding several squads) and at first I was completely confused and overwhelmed and got everyone killed repeatedly but eventually got it right. I went in to the town only with my fireteam and the wheeled apc, thinning out the enemy until it was safe to move in other squads.
The counterattack was bit bugged, some of the enemies never advanced to the town and I had to send both apc's far away to find and destroy them.
Rooster Mar 11, 2014 @ 9:09pm
There are no AT weapons available at the start of the mission, there is a vehicle with 2 rockets in its invatory for an AT weapon. But no rocketluncher itself.
Timlugia Mar 3, 2014 @ 10:27pm
Very well written mission. But I would like to suggest to move insertion point slighty away from the town, so player has time to plan and change gear before combat.
Hawk Tuah Jan 29, 2014 @ 2:05am
why is this mission so hard? it's harder than any other.
Kozak Jan 18, 2014 @ 2:20am
Great mission. There's a strange problem with the counterattack. For some reason, the whole "counterattack" I had was one squad leader lying prone 300m north of Dorida - and nothing else. Possibly, Viper has dispatched the counterattack prematurely
nounou553 Jan 7, 2014 @ 7:02am
very good mission, but too simple.
Hawk Tuah Nov 27, 2013 @ 11:17pm
actually, i'm beginning to consider it impossible.
Hawk Tuah Nov 27, 2013 @ 10:48pm
very hard missions, still haven't beaten it.
zonker3210 Nov 14, 2013 @ 9:46pm
Really nice mission but if there's a time limit, then that ought to be stated clearly in the briefing. I destroy the MRAP, draw the OPFOR infantry out into the open where they're cut down, proceed to the center of Dorida and destroy the APC. It's a winning strategy but I get the "Heavy Casualties" mission failure message....apparently because I took too long. Again, if there's a deadline for achieving objectives, then please make that clear.
Strummer Nov 13, 2013 @ 10:12am
This is a fantastic mission; the combined arms aspect of it, along with with the High Command module, is everything ArmA should be. I need to replay it because the "Eliminate OPFOR" trigger did not fire after I used my manual save and I also lost command of the other units.
DuukWasbonar Oct 16, 2013 @ 2:20pm
Great mission! Beat it after countless failures. Cautiously enter the village, and bring your support teams the cleared areas to prevent flanking. Team Alpha should take out the MRAP in the quickly before moving them further into the village. Also don't count on your men defeating the APC. Pick up a RPG from the enemy and destroy it yourself!
Shnudsheim Sep 29, 2013 @ 1:54pm
awesome! It was really the feel of the good old times. conquer and defend... love it! go on doing this
StormhawkV Sep 21, 2013 @ 10:49am
This mission is a blast! I beat it by telling my squad to stay behind the parked hunter and ordered the Marshall to drive south of the town where it killed a lot of hostiles. The enemy send one of their MRAPs up the hill but it got taken out by my missile teams just like the Marid at the intersection a minute later. I let the Marshall drive straight into the town to deal with the rest of their troops and by killing the snipers on the hill next to the minefield i completed the first task. Then i picked up a PCML from a dead soldier and used it against the incoming Kamysh while my Panther took care of their infantry.
seaotters Sep 16, 2013 @ 5:19am
Great mission, anyone have any hints for beating it? Dozens of (enjoyable) deaths so far and still not beaten it.
M1ke Sep 14, 2013 @ 4:16pm
This is a great mission mate - really good job! Liked all your missions from Arma 2 aswell. Keep up the good work!
slim1721 Sep 12, 2013 @ 11:05pm
havnt beat this mission yet, went in with my troops and got caught in the meatgrinder! It is soo much fun, most enjoyable death thus far hehe

Well so far so good , im sorry for having you think it had anything to do with your mission - It was never the fault of your mission - it just so happened to be your mission that exposed a faulty PSU ( CORSAIR TX 850M belive it or not )- I have been experiencing very audiable coil whine for a few months which was annoying as hell yet i was told from several "experts" that it wasnt anything to worry about - they were wrong lol I was told the shut downs would either be a CPU throttle or PSU problems and since my CPU is heavily monitored and wasnt anywhere near its danger zone , i had to assume it was the PSU dispite its so called "quality" . So i went out today n bought a Seasonic 1050 X Series Platinum n it has worked flawlessly thus far - My gaming rig is worth far too much money to be trusting a RMA'd new cosair TX 850M so i went with the very best in SEASONIC, Expensive but then again so was my Titan n i'll never ever trust a COSAIR PSU to power it
Ubiquitous  [author] Sep 6, 2013 @ 5:06am
@General Warmachine Did you resolve your problem? Nobody else has reported an issue like the one you described so I don't think the problem is with the mission.

@Pvt. Alrick Did you try having them advance more slowly? Send them to the outskirts of the town and secure the perimeter before moving in street-by-street to secure the town centre. The CAS can help deal with OPFOR vehicles. It might also help if you have your own squad advance cautiously into the town to contribute some extra firepower and so that you can better observe the situation and direct the attack.

For some reason i cant complete mission , when ever i start the mission my computr just shuts down, anybody know WTF is up?
damon Sep 3, 2013 @ 7:56am
Could you please provide some pointers on how to complete the mission? I send in the troops from all directions, but they die quckly.
IIITprTomIII Sep 3, 2013 @ 12:51am
Well designed mission. As I had air support flying in the mission was completed without any ground units moving in, kind of short yet a great SP mission... Thanks
Johnnyboy Sep 2, 2013 @ 6:01pm
Great mission. This is what Arma CQC and combined arms is all about. I may convert it to coop so my buddy and I can run it. Thanks!
GunnarRoxen Sep 2, 2013 @ 3:10pm
I'm loving Road to Redemption, but I wanted to say I've also really enjoyed this mission too, though I am so rusty at commanding anything above a single squad :D

Thanks for taking the time to make your missions! I'm really enjoying them and recommending them to my friends.
MC-Klappstuhl Sep 1, 2013 @ 3:29pm
Great Mission, surprisingly short at the end, but still great!
Ubiquitous  [author] Sep 1, 2013 @ 9:23am
I just released a new mission, "Road to Redemption (SP)", that is similar to this one, but much longer and more tactically involved. If you want a bigger version of this mission then you might want to check that out. But be warned: that mission is hard.

@Alex-X-x You can't give missions a star rating. You can only vote up or down with the buttons below the screenshot. The stars are calculated based on how many people have voted up/down (e.g. right now this mission has 46 upvotes and 1 downvote, which gives it 4 stars). As always, honest ratings/feedback (both good and bad) are welcome.
ĐΞΠΠ¡$ ™ Sep 1, 2013 @ 8:33am
i have a noob question now: how to vote for the mission? Will give it all 5stars :)
ĐΞΠΠ¡$ ™ Sep 1, 2013 @ 8:31am
very nice mission indeed, this is already a right direct, to what arma should be about, tactical gaming! I failed about 5 times, cause i already outlearned to play tactical missions like that. Used to more straight and simple scenarios already. And here you have to change your mind for a bit at least, to do right planing, whom and when should you send to AO, how to place them to defend the city etc. I did really enjoy the mission, like non other for period, arma 3 alph alaunch! Keep up the good work, make it more advanced, longer and even more interresting. I do really love tactical commanding scenarios!:D:
Atomi Sep 1, 2013 @ 3:35am
Nice. 4/5.

IRAQ WAR MONEY Aug 31, 2013 @ 7:36pm
Outstanding job on this mission, best mission ive played yet!
ferocious_imbecile Aug 30, 2013 @ 8:54pm
One other thing; if you're going to have missions like this please please please make them bigger. Why one littel plattoon? Why not an entire company with two or three companies of attackers? You might even program in replacements to arrive as attrition removes the first wave. Remember back in the good old days when the movies advertised " a cast of thousands"?

Well that's what I like. That's whay I make in my own scenarios.

ferocious_imbecile Aug 30, 2013 @ 8:49pm
I've downloaded about 20 scenarios since I bought Arma 3 yesterday and this is the best so far. It's challenging and presents some good problems to solve. Also It's got a big variety of action to it. The bloody fight for the center of town was particularly ferocious. You can't just rush in or you'll get smashed. You have to really work for your victory. The counter attack at the end was good too. In fact it was the best violence of the scenario.

One criticism though it may be my fault. The CAS from the helicopter was useless. All he does is get shot down. Why oh why can't helicopters in Arma stand back and lob in Hellfire missiles with pinpoint accuracy from 3 miles away? Why do they decide to go on a low level sight seeing jaunt over the battlefield without accomplishing anything?
CyberViking Aug 30, 2013 @ 7:02am
Very nice, I am looking forward to it!
Ubiquitous  [author] Aug 30, 2013 @ 6:12am
@iZen I agree that this mission is quite tactically straightforward. In that respect it is much like the ArmA II mission on which it is based. I think the whole point of that mission (and this one) is to provide a fast combined arms engagement that last ~20-30mins and puts the emphasis on ramping up to a fairly intense battle quickly rather than on pre-battle strategic manoeuvring.

I am hoping that by the end of the weekend I will have finished my next mission, which (whilst existing in the same vein as this one) will be more tactically complex, will last longer, and will have a larger overarching objective. If you want to keep the combined arms strategic dimension that comes with high command but have more tactical depth and a longer, more methodical fight then you might like to check it out when it's done.

Thanks for stopping by to comment.
CyberViking Aug 30, 2013 @ 2:51am
Hmm, I am missing the opportunity for tactical flexibility. You got a village (already) surrounded by your man. The position is OK for an attack, so all you need to do is select all your assets and let them take the town, nobrainer. Not using all your assets would result in higher risk for the other ones. Well, you would position the APCs on the outskirts of course but thats about it. And even when I ordered them to rush straight in, it worked. Nicely put together though!
Buggs Aug 29, 2013 @ 10:41am
Excellent mission! My only gripe would be that it needs more OPFOR. Apart from that it it's really enjoyable. More please!
[T3K] Swatter Aug 29, 2013 @ 7:47am
Usually I dont like HC, but it worked just fine for this mission. I did not experience a counter-attack as expected, but was informed that all 3 tasks were completed and the mission ended. Perhaps Viper or the IFV got a bit anxious, and wiped out the counterattack before it began?
Kismet Aug 29, 2013 @ 6:18am
Great job on this, loved it
