That's okay. It is a concept that I hadn't seen being used much and wanted to make a puzzle about it. Slingshot 2 uses a method I found myself which is by far more advanced than this, but does build upon the concept. Even I struggle on that map but it doesn't take me too long to complete, just many tries. :)

Thanks Prototype. :)

I'm not going to fix the fact that you can leave the cube in the other room for the simple reason that if you bring the cube there and find no use for it people will earlier bring it back to the laser than to leave it there and shoot their portals away. The cube does not give you anything additional in there I think.

Good job fixing the problems. I have just replayed the level and the escape door works. Note that it is still possible to get stuck if you leave the cube in the other room and move both portals out. (but it's pretty unlikely to happen normally) The receiver connected to the angled panel is a very nice way to prevent my alternate solution and add more puzzle.

ps. I am still trying your "Triple Jump" maps and will comment if I ever complete them :)

@prototype, yup, thats the 2nd step. :) and forgot to mention, the angled panel pointing down is just there in case you fall into the pit without a portal set.

I've just updated the map to fix a few thigns. Indeed, that door should open, but I had an extra connection set that didn't belong there which kept the door from opening. I've added a catcher to ensure that you now really can't bring the cube with you anymore. will check your demo now and report back. :)

Wait, I think I got it, is this the intended way: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ks5z3wk0gawj7k8/slingshot2.dem ?

Is that the door under the horizontal bit, because it never seems to open? Also if the intended solution only requires the cube to point at the reciever, could you not just remove the cube/laser/reciever and just put a button on the upper floor? Is the angled panel I didn't use (pointing down) part of the intended solution? Sorry for all the questions, I feel like I'm missing something...(still not sure of the intended solution to the first part, but I'll keep trying)

1/2 Yeah, thats not the inted solution, but there's no easy way for me to fix this, so I've added this to the accepted solutions. In order to do this, you have to understand the map. The only problem with this, is that people that are not skilled may also find the beginning of this solution and therefor fail the learning curve that is installed in this map and as such get stuck.

The idea is that each jump is an increment in difficulty, but following the same meganism. I have no easy way to fix this unless I remove the cube all together.

2/2 I've considered moving the cube to a room in the upper floor and make that room only accessible by pressing a button, but that seems too much of a hastle to fix this. I hate straight-forward puzzles, and now it just is not a puzzle, but it'll turn into one.

Regardless of the above, I'm glad you liked the map :) As for the adjacent room. If the cube is not lighting the door, a 2nd door will open which will allow you to get out. But if you play normally, that door is never opened.

That was great :) fairly sure I didn't do the first part the right way, but it was lots of fun. Also if you put the cube in there, and while outside move both portals out of there, I can't see how you'd get it back? (maybe I'm blind) and same for if your in there, the button that looks like it would let you out doesn't seem to do anything? (you can get stuck on purpose by thowing the cube onto the middle ledge next to gel) Here's a demo of my solution https://www.dropbox.com/s/qseg9dyc0bo2yzq/slingshot.dem

Only part I haven't managed so far is getting enough momentum to make the launch all the way to the exit. Will try again when I'm not so exhausted from moving furniture all day.
