This could totally become a passive weapon.
Replaces either your main or melee weapon, in return giving you a +25 health boost.
I think +50 would make the 'Medic' too resilient, and too much of an encouragment for Battle Medics, and no 'serious' team wants to have a Battle Medic on their team.

Could become a nice counter to the Vita-Saw, as of now, there is very few Medics that use it, since the Übersaw has too much of a positive effect to give up.

Obviously, with +25 health, you could probably get that last hit with the Übersaw that you always missed before, to counter that, a -5 or -10 Weapon Switch.
