"Release date: Before the new Thief game comes out so that I won't feel guilty binging for four days on that when it's released."

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm right...

Hey I see a little music symbol on your official page's humble widget, does that mean that if I buy it from there that my purchase will include the soundtrack? (which sounds totally awesome btw)

Any ETA for getting Steam key from Humble Store?
blankslatejoe  [author] Feb 13 @ 11:38am
Thanks guys!
I'm back to work and am making progress on the Steam side of things. In fact, here's a fancy coming soon page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/266110/ ! Also, a new trailer should be incoming very soon!
Peach Jelly Feb 13 @ 11:00am
Very cool art and music

My friend told me about this today. Want. *drools* :L
Neolithic Feb 6 @ 8:42am
Sorry, I didn't know you were ill. :(
Here's to hoping you get better soon , and we get our fill of guns
blankslatejoe  [author] Feb 5 @ 4:32pm
Neolithic-you're telling me! With the exception of the last three days, (I've been taking a mini-break and fighting off one serious illness), I've been crunching to get things set up for release. I've been really agonizing over whether or not I'll need to delay the steam release by about 2-3 weeks...It'll be depressing to miss that 'Thief' release date, but a couple of weeks is better than pushing the game too early. It's seeming like the prudent way to go to give folks the best experience I can.
Neolithic Feb 2 @ 8:36am
Thief is releasing at the end of this month, so hopefully Steam release is around the corner? Early Access is also fine.
SuperPatriot Jan 30 @ 1:49pm
Thanks for the new build!
Sheldon 3.0.2 Jan 24 @ 6:23pm
Nice game =D
blankslatejoe  [author] Jan 23 @ 8:01pm
(hows that for service?) Although...i haven't tested it too much yet though.

ALSO: If you are capped at 60 you might have to unlock that in the ini files.

In config>UDKEngine.ini change all instances of bSmoothFrameRate to False and change the MinSmoothedFrameRate and MaxSmoothedFrameRate to 0 . That should unlock framerate completely. If you change it to True/144/146 than that should be good for a 144mhz monitor, True/60/62 for a 60hz monitor, and so forth. Those are UDK/UE3 base settings that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to properly expose in a menu, but at least I can help people navigate them.
blankslatejoe  [author] Jan 23 @ 7:52pm
Archlich - its in the new build! I JUST posted the build live to Humble and IGS, so it should be available now for you. :-)
Archlich Jan 23 @ 6:06pm
Can we have the option to turn off things like motion blur? Motion blur bottlenecks my framerate and adds little to my experience.
blankslatejoe  [author] Jan 21 @ 1:05pm
Also, shoot me an email at support at terribleposture dot com and we can continue to troubleshoot this offline. I'll post any solutions we find to the tech-help thread on the ToG forum.
blankslatejoe  [author] Jan 21 @ 1:03pm
hm... that is indeed a weird one, Robertsolution. Can you tell me what OS you're using? Also, have you run other UE3/UDK game on it in the past? (Borderlands, Antichamber, Bioshock, Spec Ops, etc.)?

Robertsolution Jan 20 @ 3:40pm
Hey Joe, Nice game you got here. I've seen some videos and I like what I've seen so far. I purchased it on IGS a while back, and now that I've gotten the chance to play it, I tried booting it up... It does it's thing for a few seconds before coming back with an error, "Failed to find Eula; aborting install." I've done some research and found out that it's not likely your fault, but more so UDK's fault. If you've encountered this error and/or know how to fix it, it would be much appreciated.
Awaiting Response, Robertsolution.

@blankslatejow Tell your linux friends if they want one so bad that they should help you.
blankslatejoe  [author] Jan 10 @ 6:35pm
While I'd love to have a linux build (and my linux pals give me a lot of flak for not having one) unfortunately I lack both the requisite skill and technology to make that happen: Unreal doesn't allow for Linux depots in its UDK toolsuite, and even if I had native UE3 code access I don't think I'd be skilled enough of a developer to make a functional linux build. Sorry Automatic, I wish I had a better answer for you.. :-(
[Linux] UZzK5RDF Jan 10 @ 9:37am
Looks really good, although your lack of Linux support annoys me. Any chance you'll add it at a post-release date?
blankslatejoe  [author] Jan 5 @ 12:08pm
Zakhep - You mean like a roguelegacy castle type thing? It's a good idea, but I probably wont have time, sadly. Perhaps if I do well enough to make a sequel...

2x>u - thanks. Ive been meaning to do a new gameplay trailer for about 5 months now. The vinesauce interview or one of the many letsplays should give you a taste of the game till I have time to make a new trailer. :-)

Fletcher - i'd love that, but believe it or not that seems to be one of the trickier things to change in UDK-there's very little documentation and without native (sourcecode) access to the unreal code, I'm not even sure it's possible...That'd be pretty bizarre if its truly the case, so I'll keep researching/asking around.

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement guys! I'm still hard at work, making progress every day!
Zakhep Jan 4 @ 8:15pm
Are there any plans for presistant upgrades?
(The unlockable weapons and perks don't count, unless you can pick more perks as you progress.)
cschma1 Jan 4 @ 12:33pm
If you want to see a sampling of the game and hear an interiew with the creator: go to Twitch and search vinesauce. A guy named Vinny streamed the game while talking to the founder of Terrible Posture Games.
2X>U Jan 4 @ 7:39am
The music reminds me of doom, the gameplay reminds me of descent 2, and the gun and graphics remind me of unreal tournament. I think I played too many games. I would definitely give it a try, but I feel that the video did not do its justice. It does look like it brings new things to the fps table and for that I am more than willing to try it, but I am unsure from the footage whether I would like it or not. Either way, it looks like someone put a lot of work into it and i would be more than willing to give the developers some kudos for that.
SuperPatriot Jan 1 @ 3:44pm
Perhaps next update add a desktop shortcut with a cool icon. :)
SMOKE PAN EVERYDAY Dec 24, 2013 @ 4:45pm
Update on the game; I must say I'm really enjoying the game so far. I've put about 10 hours into it and really excited about the new build, can't wait to download it. The amount of variatey that there is in the game atm is astounding, I'm planning to be a games designer and so am doing a course and my fellow gamers said that this game is great and loved it. Keep up the astounding progress, I honestly can't wait to see how it goes.
godprobe Dec 23, 2013 @ 7:21pm
Got the "Early Access game files have been updated" email from IGS -- looks like the emails work just fine! :) Looking forward to whenever this hits Steam -- that gif in the email is a great teaser!
Pepito Dec 6, 2013 @ 10:03am
Does anybody have a key from the indie game stand?I can pay up to 1 dollar.
Player Review Dec 6, 2013 @ 3:54am
This game is worth every penny and the developer is great. Also, I can attest that IGS newsletter works well; I get emails through there from devs all the time for updates etc.
jackaho Nov 28, 2013 @ 2:22am
@Tender Loving Asian Yeah I realize rougelikes are all about starting with nothing. I like progression, the feeling of accomplishing something after putting time into a game. So yeah, this is probably not the game for me but I'm still happy to support a struggling developer with terrible posture.
daniel the dorito Nov 24, 2013 @ 11:03pm
Oh damn I didn't realise it was for sale on indiegamestand :(

still gonna buy though :D
blankslatejoe  [author] Nov 24, 2013 @ 12:15pm
I'll be trying out Indiegamestand's newsletter thing to send out emails when there are new builds and/or steam integration..but I've never used it before, so I can't vouch for how well that part of IGS works.

Everything else on the IGS site has been absolutely fantastic to work with though, so I don't predict any problems. STILL, if you want to be SURE you get the email, then sign up for the mailing list on the right sidebar of www.towerofguns.com. And thanks for the pre-order!
Neolithic Nov 24, 2013 @ 9:51am
I suppose if the Steam integration part is still pending, it can't be made early access either. Alright then, thanks for the update. Will wait for an announcement from you. I got this from the recent IndieGameStand sale, and can't wait for a Steam key. Any idea if we will be notified over email once this has launched on Steam?
xDIABLOx Nov 24, 2013 @ 9:34am
make it early access
blankslatejoe  [author] Nov 24, 2013 @ 5:42am
It'll be a little while still--probably a month or two to schedule in and complete the steam integration.
Neolithic Nov 24, 2013 @ 12:13am
Any potential timelines when this will get on Steam?
daniel the dorito Nov 22, 2013 @ 1:44am
Looks cool, and the graphics look refreshing - a lot of "blocky" games similar to this have come out (nothing wrong with that, but it feels oversaturated).
SMOKE PAN EVERYDAY Nov 20, 2013 @ 4:46pm
@Jackaho but that's the beauty of it all, starting fresh without levelups, badges etc makes it feel like you're playing a new level and that's why it's designed that way. If you kept your levelups, mods and badges then it wouldn't be a rogue-ish style game anymore but would play out more like an RPG game. Not to mention it would mean that the levels would generally be a lot easier and that would be no fun.
Legionář Siegfried CZE Nov 20, 2013 @ 11:12am
Awesome
jackaho Nov 20, 2013 @ 12:51am
I just purchased this recently and I like it except for the fact that I lose everything I gained after I die. Personally, I'd like it a lot better if we could at least keep the levelups and the mods and badges we collected along the way. It feels like I accomplish nothing every time I start over. Maybe it's not the game for me.
Gfye@Twitch.tv Nov 19, 2013 @ 9:15pm
I just got this game off IndieGameStand and have to say that for an early release it seems to be a really nice game. Keep up the great work, I will be streaming TOG on Twitch.tv later to get the word out! :D
BoxcutterVillain Nov 19, 2013 @ 6:39pm
Looks awesome!
Brawndo The Thirst Mutilator Nov 19, 2013 @ 5:48pm
Yay! Finally got the email with the game!
Pyro Gourmand [$1≠1€] Nov 19, 2013 @ 3:41pm
Just got it on Indie Game Stand for $5 - I hope I'll get to play it before summer 2014 (damn univ + backlog-of-death)

Good luck on the project Joe, keep up the good work ;)

(Thi4f will be terribad anyway, you'll be back in no time :P)
