Great work Decoy. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Kslo42 May 16 @ 11:55am
Excellent adventure. Loved the storyline and npc interaction. Puzzles were well thought out and required a little thinking, but didn't reach the point of frustration. Only needed help with 1 puzzle, the mystic doorway :) I recommend this mod to anyone who plays Legend of Grimrock. Kudos to Decoy!
RoyalGrue Feb 27 @ 9:09am
Superb. An original story and a unique take on the dungeon. I think even Pavlov would have recommended this mod.

@Machallan
Thank ou for enjoying this mod. Reactions like these are exactly why I wanted to make them. If you liked this mod, you might also check out "the awakening of taarnab", the second mod I made.

* raises his glass of wine * cheers!
Machallan Dec 26, 2013 @ 11:53am
Good evening mister Decoy, I just finished your dungeon, and, I found it... Awesome! You've done a very very good work, on the the soundtrack and the narration, wich makes me think that this mod is perhaps even better than the original game. The only default (in my opinion), is the history maybe a bit too Portal Like.
Thank you very much, I hope you're going to get a glass of wine to celebrate!
Decoy  [author] Dec 11, 2013 @ 7:21am
@NightShade Thanks for trying my mod and I'm glad you like it.

I made another mod, called "the awakening of taarnab". I'd advise you to give that a whirl if you didn't already do so. It contains lot's of puzzles and another nice story.
NightShade Dec 9, 2013 @ 7:21pm
Hey Decoy! I just wanted so say that this dungeon gave me goosebumps at some points. The atmosphere u created with the dialoge and the soundeffects was really great all the time. And i really loved the riddles, the ones for the dragon in particular. All around really good work and i hope you keep doing more of this awesomeness :D.
dboitnott Dec 1, 2013 @ 6:05am
Awesome mod! Best I've played thus far. Very good balance throughout, puzzles vs exploration vs battles. Puzzles just the right quality...not mind crushing, but not always easy either. Well done!
Israphelo Nov 3, 2013 @ 2:35pm
this is one of those rare toorum mode dungeons that are actually good!
Jhael Nov 3, 2013 @ 3:51am
Very nice mod, nice design, superb puzzles and hard battles!

Another one ?! XD
Decoy  [author] Oct 23, 2013 @ 11:03am
Thanks Grognakh. If you liked this, be sure to check out my latest mod, "the awakening of Taarnab". It's full with even more betterness! :)
Grognakh Oct 22, 2013 @ 3:22pm
Really a great mod, one of the best i've completed 100% on this game. Nice work!

Kingjaffad Jul 7, 2013 @ 5:31am
Is it the scroll with all the letters?
Decoy  [author] Jul 7, 2013 @ 5:08am
At the end of the warrior test there was a clue at the ground with the actual solution.
Kingjaffad Jul 6, 2013 @ 1:19pm
I'm stuck at the portal puzzle after the "warriors test"
Did I miss a hint or something

great mod so far BTW ;)

Nice dungeon! One of the best for all around play. Imagination!!!!
Zimberzimber May 16, 2013 @ 2:57pm
Thanks mate!
Decoy  [author] May 16, 2013 @ 7:46am
@Zimberzimber I'm glad you like this! To get out, you need to get downstairs and travel a bit more through the teleporter-maze. When you take the stairs up at the right time, you'll see a pressure plate. Stand on it to leave the maze.
Zimberzimber May 15, 2013 @ 9:01am
love this map! very nice coding and story line! but i got stuck :I
i figured the signs of the dragon, found the dragon... now... how do i get out? X_X
[LUE] Vegetaman May 11, 2013 @ 9:52am
This mod was great. One of the first I've played and I beat it in about 3 hours and 15 minutes. Sadly I seemed to have missed a secret somewhere though.
Decoy  [author] May 11, 2013 @ 8:54am
The 'stash' you probably missed was right wheren you needed to kill the first monster. In the room where it spawns, there is a sword on the ground that should be good enough to kill the prison stuff. Also, there's 2 secret buttons in the room where you fall down, giving you optional armor and some potions.
Buddytiger May 10, 2013 @ 2:28am
Thank you for a nice mod. I liked the conversations and the scripts. Just one minor gripe: the fights in the prison before you free Sheola were a huge pain as I did not have enough level / a good enough weapon and eventhough they were not that difficult, they dragged on forever. Maybe I missed a secret stash?
The Flying Claw May 7, 2013 @ 7:06am
Thanks Decoy for a thoroughly interesting mod! Good balance of puzzles and combat.
Silver May 4, 2013 @ 7:22am
Finally some interesting plot. Excellent mod.
Decoy  [author] Apr 27, 2013 @ 2:00am
Nope. You really think you ARE a real prophet?
Duermes Apr 26, 2013 @ 8:36pm
Don't suppose there's any way to not fail the prophet test?
Decoy  [author] Apr 21, 2013 @ 10:36pm
@Silver You do not need to delete other mods, you can play multiple custom dungeons at the same time.

Depending on your internet connection, it can take some time before the mod is in the list. To check if the downloading is done, follow the steps below:
1) Go to the top of this page and see if you are subscribed. If not, press the button under the pictures to subscribe
2) In Steam, go to games > downloads to see if there is anything that steam is downloading. Make sure that all downloads regarding Legend of Grimrock are finished (not paused or suspended)
3) Once all downloading is done, start Legend of Grimrock through steam
4) In The menu choose "Custom Dungeon" and in the list search for "Wine Merchants Basement".

If the steps above don't work, download the mod from this link[grimrock.nexusmods.com]. Unzip the file and put it in your documents/grimrock/dungeons folder. Or, if you're at a loss, friend me so we can chat.
Lomeo Apr 21, 2013 @ 1:27pm
Hey, I had a really good time playing your dungeon. You did a great job!
Silver Apr 21, 2013 @ 1:27pm
it won't work for me, i click subscribe but nothing appears in the game :( Do i have to delete my other mods?
23rdAngstrom Apr 15, 2013 @ 8:38pm
Great effin mod. Bout an hour in and loving it!
callipygous_tp Apr 12, 2013 @ 10:03pm
Really enjoyed the design of your campaign with regards to party design. Initially was a bit put off that you forced the group make up on me but I'm glad I gave it a chance. What a great little story you tell here. Thoroughly enjoyed the few hours I spent poking around in the dungeon. Really surprised this doesn't have 5/5 stars. I'll be checking out your Awakening of Taarnab next.
Decoy  [author] Apr 11, 2013 @ 10:30pm
I'm glad you figured it out. Good luck on the rest of the trip, you're in for quite a ride!
TheAntiCrumpet Apr 11, 2013 @ 5:20pm
Nevermind, didn't realize that you could throw anything you wished like that.
TheAntiCrumpet Apr 11, 2013 @ 5:15pm
This is probably obvious, but I'm stuck on the grate things with the red mist coming out of them after the choice. The answer is probably going to be really obvious, isn't it?
Decoy  [author] Feb 28, 2013 @ 11:53am
If you liked venturing through the wine merchant's basement, be sure to check out my other mod, which tells about the Awakening of taarnab.

Miles Bluefalls [t] Feb 25, 2013 @ 4:46pm
Anyone who knows people who refuse to finish the main game because (insert whining here), point them to this dungeon. The first few levels are almost perfect to get players accustomed to how combat's really supposed to be handled, to the kinds of puzzles and thinking you'd have to be used to, and to learn how to juggle around a mage without too much of a hassle.
The rest of the dungeon is excellent, too. And I didn't think I'd like the idea of having only "half a party" for most of it, but the stat boost items more than made up for how much more slowly you'd THINK you'd be killing monsters.
Decoy  [author] Feb 24, 2013 @ 4:48am
They don't do anything. There are other mods that have a 'drink-meter' just like you have a 'food-meter' but I don't use that. The water flasks are just flavor.
Miles Bluefalls [t] Feb 23, 2013 @ 2:52pm
Are the flasks of water supposed to do anything, or am I just not noticing an obvious effect?
rain Feb 22, 2013 @ 9:06pm
Serious congrats on this dungeon. It is excellent. I had such a great time playing it. I love the storyline and all the great ideas you came up with. Serious good stuff!!
