The hawks are killable, but the birds that scatter from trees are asthetic only.

Thank you for your quick response. Here an update from my side:
1 Yes, the problem is consistent, also with different saves and only running this mod.
2 I just tried to delete the skyrimprefs file.
3 That seemed to fixc the problem, as the game now loads just fine. However, I can't tell for certain of the mod works, as I don't know or there are MORE birds. I do notice quite a few birds, but I haven't payed that much attention to birds before so I don't know or it are more.

But anyway, I do have the mod loading and the game works fine, so thank you very much for this mod!

Hey Finn: The first thing is make sure you've verified that disabling the mod allows the game to load, and that it begins crashing on loadup consistently when the mod is re-activated.

Try loading other saves and see if it crashes on those also. Try loading a game saved in an interior, and then from that interior, load your save that is crashing. If it loads, resave it, and proceed from there.

If no luck, try deleting the skyrimprefs file from the My Documents/My Games/Skyrim folder. The file will regenerate on the next launch, but player settings such as graphics details and game preferences will be reset to their defaults, so you'll need to set those back to where you had them.

Thank you for making this mod, I really like the idea. It does give that extra edge of realism which makes this game even better. Unfortunaly this mod is crashing my game, so I thought I would let you know. While loading my last save, the game crashes after a few seconds (of loading).

I'm having the exact same issue where Windstad Manor does not appear and I never used the other version, either. Both of the other houses work just fine, it's just that one that is bugged.

Birds not dying when shot is an issue that exists outside of this mod, and I'm unaware of any work around for it. I haven't heard any reports of birds merely disappearing when shot, so that is a first, but understand it's not any mod author's intent to screw up anyone's game.

I am so ticked of at this mod, when I unistalled it, birds that I shoot with my bow will just disappear instead o falling t the ground. Also the reason I unistalled it was because birds didn't die period. The arrows would just get stuck in the bird while flying arround. Thanks for screwing up my game -_- :(

I have never installed the original birds and flocks.

I had 3 other mods known to kill Windstad Manor, after uninstalling them the house was still broken. I then uninstalled Birds and Flocks Hearthfire Edition and my house came back in to existance.

I know that the Lakeview Manor works but not sure about any of the other houses.

Just to cover all the bases: If you were running the original Birds and Flocks, double check to make sure it is deactivated, and preferably uninstalled.

Do you know if there are any other houses being affected?

Also, are you certain that it is this mod and not another one that may be affecting exterior worldspaces? You have deactivated this mod and verified that your house works without it?

I was seriously frustrated, of all the Hearthfires home that I wanted - this was the main one. Of course the other two worked just fine ... (go figure) >..<

This fixed it so I can actually have the house that I really cared about.

Flocks appear most often in forests but there are some places in the more open areas where I managed to get them to work. Hawks can be placed anywhere.
are they supposed to fly around in the open, or do the flocks only appear in forest's?

Everytime I walk through a forest and a flock of birds fly off, I still jump in fright. Same with the bats underground that suddenly fly off. Good job my gaming chair is wipe clean!!

Bats do exist in the game by default, but were only used in Bleak Falls Barrow, when you enter the chamber with the word wall. They flutter away quickly, but it is a startling effect that I added to other dungeons with this mod.

If you've got an older system you may notice a brief hesitation when flocks flutter away. That is the only issue I've ever seen or heard of.

Does this mod change the graphics (species) of chickens at all? All I see in game unmodded are Rhode Island Reds, when Dorkings & other Old World chickens might suit Skyrim better.

Great stuff, nice immersion booster.

arm0003 - adds more birds to the environment - be it the hawks etc circling overhead, or the flocks of birds that burst from trees/shrubs as you walk nearby (I've noticed this happens quite a lot more than vanilla - if only because I invariably startle and draw my sword in anticipation of a fight ;) ).

Is there a simple way for a user to modify the frequency of circling hawks such that steam wouldn't revert the change as soon as the game is launched again? I am using this mod and while startling flocks is a noticeable addition, I am still very seldom seeing hawks in the sky and would like to see them around a bit more often.

I understand, and it's no problem. I tried a bunch of things like resetting the house quest, disabling hearthfire (game crashed on main menu), resetting the cell, etc and nothing worked. I was only level 6 this time anyway, not a huge deal. Also, thanks for the mod. I really enjoy the atmosphere and immersion.

Oh I understand now. The original mod does not allow the house to appear, so I am not sure if that data is actually available any place it could be retrieved and imported into your game.

It would honestly be easier to just build it from scratch than to try to dig through game files and try to pick out a few snippets of code that represent the house you built so far that didn't appear. (If that code even exists.)

Sorry about the inconvenience, but this is just one of those things that happens to some mods when official expansions or updates come out for a game.
