I built the Morthal one first which didn't show. I built the Falkreath one after with no problems. I'll do a little more digging next weekend if I can and get back to you.
Kazoomie  [author] May 17 @ 9:56am
Only some of the houses were affected by the Birds and Flocks mod incompatibility, so what you saw was normal. So I understand the situation, you built the Falkreath house first with no problems, and then tried to build Morthal and/or Windstad and they didn't show up?

Let me know what happens with your experiments with the load order.
Sir Loin May 17 @ 12:37am
Thanks for your reply Kazoomie. What I have noticed is the issue (whatever that is) doesn't affect the Falkreath home at all. I'm unsure about the Dawnstar one.

Initially I built the house with the mod already loaded. After I realised there was an issue I then went back to an older save, bought the plot of land and saved the game at the house before construction. I then loaded each instance each time to test every mod individually.

I will try your suggestions hopefully it is something simple like load order :)

Thanks again
Kazoomie  [author] May 16 @ 3:55pm
Loin, no worries, you don't come across as combative. I am genuinely puzzled as to why the mod would interfere with Hearthfire on your system when it works on others. It may either be an odd conflict with another mod or perhaps something to do with your mod load order. Try moving it to the top and then the bottom.

Was the house you're testing with constructed before or after you added this mod to the game?

Sorry you're having issues. I'd like to try to figure out what's going on, since this is unusual.

A simple thing you can try is to go to the My Games folder in your documents, open the Skyrim folder and delete the SkyrimPrefs file. It will be rebuilt next time you launch the game, but if you had any custom config settings made to that file, you'll have to re-do them.

Deleting the file is useful for fixing crashes. I know you're not crashing, and I am not sure if this would have any effect on the game, but it's a quick and easy experiment.
Sir Loin May 14 @ 11:38am
@Kazoomie. I checked all 85 mods I run one-by-one (took some time) and it was this one. I'm not being combative, I enjoyed running this mod. I just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Apologies if my comment came across insulting. It was not intended to be so.
Kazoomie  [author] May 13 @ 10:10am
Sir Loin, this mod shouldn't affect homebuilding as it was specifically made compatible with Hearthfire. Keep in mind that any mod that affects exterior worldspaces will cause homes not to appear if it hasn't been made compatible with Hearthfire.

Check your modlist for any mods that influence the outdoor worldspace, disable them, and see if your house shows up.
Ol´WASDard May 13 @ 8:17am
Thanks for the bats :) !!! okay i gonna watch a video.
Sir Loin May 13 @ 8:13am
Found that this mod causes the Morthal home, Windstad to not appear when built. I have used no other Birds and Flocks except this Hearthfire edition.
Kazoomie  [author] May 12 @ 11:34am
The birds do fly at a high rate of speed normally. I think what you're seeing is normal. If you are unsure, you may wish to look up the mod on Youtube and see if anyone has posted video of it in action to compare. Otherwise, you may also take a video and upload it to Youtube and post the link here and I would be happy to look at it and see if it looks abnormal.

Yes, this mod also adds more bats to dungeons.
Ol´WASDard May 12 @ 7:39am
and i wonder whos killing the birds......
Ol´WASDard May 12 @ 7:36am
thanks for your fast response Kazoomie. Well...sometimes i see shadows of birds on gound flyin by with hyperspeed...when i look up...theres no bird. And sometimes i see em in the sky flying straight like rocket. Most of the time i dont see any bird doing "tha glitchy thingy". by the way..I entered a ruin and a swarm of bats flew up, that was an awesome moment..is this one of the things ur mod does ? Maybe its the mod loading order messing up ? Or incompatibility with other mods...i havent installed any other animal stuff mod
AJ_NL May 12 @ 7:11am
I like it! Makes the game more natural :D
Kazoomie  [author] May 11 @ 2:19pm
The hawks that circle in the air can be killed. If you aren't killing them I am not sure what would be.

When you say the birds fly like rockets, are you talking about the ones that become startled when you walk by them and they fly away?

I haven't ever heard of them moving at varying speeds. It is an animation that should always play at the exact same speed each time. It is a fairly quick animation, and they do depart the tree at a fast speed. But from the wording of your post it sounds like sometimes they are faster than others. Is that correct?
Ol´WASDard May 10 @ 2:11pm
nice mod. Sometimes the Birds fly with the speed of a rocket...sometimes i just find them dead on ground. Is it me or a known problem ? Its the right Version^^
Krynin May 5 @ 3:00pm
I am glad I let you know in the comments that I liked your mod, because otherwise I would not have read that it is incompatible with Hearthfire and would not have known to come here :) anyway, good mod!
MakesItFit May 3 @ 4:05pm
thanks extremely prompt
Kazoomie  [author] May 3 @ 4:01pm
From the Skyrim launcher, hit data, and right click on Birds and Flocks. From there you should have an option to delete it/unsubscribe.
MakesItFit May 3 @ 3:46pm
how do i uninstall the other version?
likalaruku Apr 10 @ 4:25pm
These were always my favorite kinds of mods. I remember back in Morrowind there was a large handful of mods that added things like fish & hermit crabs. Watching fish spawn in the sewers of Mournhold was the coolest thing ever.

It's really the little things that add to the game, because even as of Skyrim, Tamriel still feels relatively void of life & disturbingly quiet.
yrmama Mar 13 @ 1:19am
Nice little mod, how Skyrim should have been.
nordedvard Mar 2 @ 12:51pm
gooood!! naice!
Miller283 Jan 20 @ 10:38am
Nice Work
Ed Jan 5 @ 12:26am
So simple. So immersive.
Nefnoj Dec 8, 2014 @ 9:49am
Coooool, thank you! This mod is necessary!
Kazoomie  [author] Dec 8, 2014 @ 8:54am
The hawks are killable, but the birds that scatter from trees are asthetic only.
Nefnoj Dec 7, 2014 @ 3:43pm
I didn't see if this was mentioned, can the birds be killed, or is it purely asthetic?
Kazoomie  [author] Sep 4, 2014 @ 7:43pm
Glad it is all fixed up! The mod isn't the kind of thing you'll notice immediately, but as you play the game, you'll see it at work. Have fun!
f.c.sauer Sep 3, 2014 @ 3:58am
Hey Brodozer,
Thank you for your quick response. Here an update from my side:
1 Yes, the problem is consistent, also with different saves and only running this mod.
2 I just tried to delete the skyrimprefs file.
3 That seemed to fixc the problem, as the game now loads just fine. However, I can't tell for certain of the mod works, as I don't know or there are MORE birds. I do notice quite a few birds, but I haven't payed that much attention to birds before so I don't know or it are more.

But anyway, I do have the mod loading and the game works fine, so thank you very much for this mod!

With kind regards,

Finn Sauër
Kazoomie  [author] Sep 2, 2014 @ 2:59pm
Hey Finn: The first thing is make sure you've verified that disabling the mod allows the game to load, and that it begins crashing on loadup consistently when the mod is re-activated.

Try loading other saves and see if it crashes on those also. Try loading a game saved in an interior, and then from that interior, load your save that is crashing. If it loads, resave it, and proceed from there.

If no luck, try deleting the skyrimprefs file from the My Documents/My Games/Skyrim folder. The file will regenerate on the next launch, but player settings such as graphics details and game preferences will be reset to their defaults, so you'll need to set those back to where you had them.
f.c.sauer Aug 31, 2014 @ 5:28am
Hello Brodozer,
Thank you for making this mod, I really like the idea. It does give that extra edge of realism which makes this game even better. Unfortunaly this mod is crashing my game, so I thought I would let you know. While loading my last save, the game crashes after a few seconds (of loading).
The mods (including DLCS) I had running at the time were:
In order:
SKSE (this is not really loading, but you get the point. Latest version BTW))
Dawnguard.esm
Dragonborn.esm
HearthFires.esm
HighResTexturePack01.esp
HighResTexturePack02.esp

Finn Sauër

:D Wow, that's what I call service! Thanks, Pinchy Pokey.
Kazoomie  [author] Jul 29, 2014 @ 7:39pm
For anyone who is having issues with any house not appearing with this mod, please post your entire mod list here so that I can have a look at it and try to nail down any conflicts.

Also added a description of the actual mod just for irrevenant :)
irrevenant Jul 27, 2014 @ 3:23pm
Can you add a description of what the mod actually *does* please for those of us who come across this version first?
Air Jul 26, 2014 @ 1:03pm
@Ericgi231
I'm having the exact same issue where Windstad Manor does not appear and I never used the other version, either. Both of the other houses work just fine, it's just that one that is bugged.
Kazoomie  [author] Jul 20, 2014 @ 9:39am
Birds not dying when shot is an issue that exists outside of this mod, and I'm unaware of any work around for it. I haven't heard any reports of birds merely disappearing when shot, so that is a first, but understand it's not any mod author's intent to screw up anyone's game.
Dogsled Jul 19, 2014 @ 9:45pm
I am so ticked of at this mod, when I unistalled it, birds that I shoot with my bow will just disappear instead o falling t the ground. Also the reason I unistalled it was because birds didn't die period. The arrows would just get stuck in the bird while flying arround. Thanks for screwing up my game -_- :(
oceanvista Jul 7, 2014 @ 2:07am
nise :)
Ericgi231 Apr 4, 2014 @ 7:45pm
I have never installed the original birds and flocks.

I had 3 other mods known to kill Windstad Manor, after uninstalling them the house was still broken. I then uninstalled Birds and Flocks Hearthfire Edition and my house came back in to existance.

I know that the Lakeview Manor works but not sure about any of the other houses.
Kazoomie  [author] Apr 4, 2014 @ 6:37pm
Just to cover all the bases: If you were running the original Birds and Flocks, double check to make sure it is deactivated, and preferably uninstalled.

Do you know if there are any other houses being affected?

Also, are you certain that it is this mod and not another one that may be affecting exterior worldspaces? You have deactivated this mod and verified that your house works without it?
Ericgi231 Apr 4, 2014 @ 9:46am
Windstad Manor.
Kazoomie  [author] Apr 3, 2014 @ 7:53pm
Which house is it?
Ericgi231 Apr 2, 2014 @ 2:54pm
This version still screws up my house, no birds for me.
Xemawth Mar 3, 2014 @ 12:26pm
First mod totaly killed one of my homes, pretty upset about that, but i seriously appreciate you updating this and giving us back our birds! No hard feelings!

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

I was seriously frustrated, of all the Hearthfires home that I wanted - this was the main one. Of course the other two worked just fine ... (go figure) >..<

This fixed it so I can actually have the house that I really cared about.

THANK YOU!!!
Travis182 Jan 21, 2014 @ 7:40am
This is causing a crash to desktop every time I try to save. I disabled it and now my game works fine.
GitsN'Shiggles( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Jan 12, 2014 @ 9:19pm
oh, k thx mate.
Kazoomie  [author] Jan 12, 2014 @ 10:38am
Flocks appear most often in forests but there are some places in the more open areas where I managed to get them to work. Hawks can be placed anywhere.
GitsN'Shiggles( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Jan 11, 2014 @ 7:33pm
are they supposed to fly around in the open, or do the flocks only appear in forest's?
YouTube/Eviscerator95 Dec 29, 2013 @ 9:50pm
i have used the original version of th emod, and i have hearthfire instaleed, but i never seemed to find any problems, what problems exactly would there be
