What is Profit?
Profit is pretty much when you make more then what you originally bough an item for. Say if you trade a 1.33 ref hat for a 2.77ref hat. Congratulations, you have just made 1.44 refined profit! It is truly quite easy. I'm going to expect you know the basic vocabulary of trading, and the basics of trading in general. But if you don't, here's a video from pyrofuzion
How to Make Profit
So, now that we know what profit is, let's move on to the meat and potatoes of this guide. Profit is the main reason we trade. If there is a unusual on the market for 18 keys that normally goes for 22 keys, you would normally think you should buy it to make easy profit, but in reality, the person is probably quickselling this unusual because of two reasons. One is that the unusual's price is inflated, meaning that many people are selling for this price and no one has made a price change even though the item is clearly not worth that much. Two is that the unusual is very hard to sell, and no one has offered to buy it, therefore making it so you will most likely have to sell it for that price or only a few ref in profit. Now, for actually making profit, one of the key tips that many people will say is be polite, use good grammar, and make sure to not show your affection to a unusual/hat. If you use good grammar, people are more likely to agree with your offer because you are clear in what you want. Showing no affection means not saying "This is my dream unusual!" or "I will LOVE you if you let me get this hat for cheap!" because that shows the opposite trader (Who is also attempting to make profit) that you are attatched to that hat and are just going to give in to the price he is offering. Putting these tips into action will be difficult, but you need to do it! So there's a quick profit guide for those of you looking to make profit! Go out there and get a Golden Pan!
