Mammut Prototype Mark 2

Description
Updated 2/12 NZ time: Internal blocks/devices finalised, LCD screens all filled in bar the engineer's ones on the first floor. Still slightly off balanced, but rate of tilt and slide is small enough that it's not an issue. Predict it would take a major total rework to resolve this issue.

Internal passage usability has also been done, and as long as the floors are semi-flat, you wont get stuck and generally traverse all passages. However, 45 degree slope pieces, used for ramps here to save space can be problematic, and jump-jetting is require when the floor is more than 20 degree off horizontal. Slight pain, but using long ramps instead would have meant it had to be even longer. Some doors were replaced with shutters as well.
_________________________________________

The extended and reworked version of the original Mammut prototype is finally here, albeit with reduced performance due to having to stuff it full of 1.5T artificial mass blocks.

Left to do is a detailing pass, usability testing on internal passages, texturing, painting and filling out a few LCD screens with text. Along with spawning this from blueprint to test out adding more thrusters. However that's going to take a while obviously, so out this goes as a taste of the final product!

Also, in the finished version all the turrets will be marked with their locations on the hull to make it easier to located the one you need. Key to what's what is present is on the LCD panel in the rear turret station at this stage, need to write and format it on the other two.

Terrain handling wise - it's actually pretty capable, slightly less in some ways than the mark 1, slightly better in others than the mark 1, with the main issue being acceleration due larger weight. Interestingly the length gives a slight advatange for crossing gorges in testing, with boost less having to be used.

Note - it does tilt upwards at the bow by a couple of degrees, but stops there and doesn't slide back, seem to otherwise be completely stable and wont move an inch now without user input. [edit] - Wrong, it does slide backwards, but very very very slowly, upwards tilt stops at about 6-7 degrees, really need a measurement system though to work out the true angle of tilt. Very difficult to get the balance right though due to changes to the HV not registering until you restart the game completely.

Haven't yet spawned it in Survival since I did all the work in creative mode due to an extended break from Empyrion. But provided you keep out of range of the POI's turrets and park the HV up, the arty can be used to pick off the turrets while the rest pick off any drones stupid enough to come near you.

Oh and the role for this is more as a mobile mining base for a large team, hence the 14 seats installed in it or those looking for a monster HV :P

Though for dedicated POI assaults I've got some plans floating around in my head, but my mining HV's are presently my main focus, since I need to update them for 4.0+ and plan on completely redoing the Armadillo and Wombat HV's to bring them up to standard.

Gads this thing is a MONSTER! How does it do against POIs? Assuming of course you do use it in assaults given the armament loadout.

it's not as big as the Mammoth from slam-tek :P

Might just be heavier though and the current version doesn't need a harvester to deal with trees, it just bowls them over.
