But who says RPGs should be open-world? It's really just become a convention, I think, because the first RPGs were text based and it would've been boring to only go one direction the whole way..

I don't understand why FFXIII gets flak for being linear, but Half-Life doesn't?
There's nothing wrong with linearity in a game..

I wanted to make a map that truly captured the gameplay, this game has hallways, and the feeling of being forced only to walk in one direction! Feedback is welcome!

Truly this map's description matches the inspiration. As a player of FFXIII, I can relate to the deeper meanings of this map.
