How to build a wheel, arc, tower or well
By ♥ Deirdre ♥
This guide will show how to create a wheel, a tower or a well.
It's very simple and also for beginners.

What you need:
Some blocks to align your woodbeams
Woodbeams to build (lenght and ID as desired
Rotatian setr 1-15 (I'm using standard rotation with 15°, the smaller the number the more filled the circle).
The largest grid
Step 1
Fix the first woodbeam with left mouse
Use page up or page down, rotate until the circle is closed
(arrow keys right or left if you build a tower or well)

Be aware that you have enough woodbeams in hand and that you have not pressed enter, otherwise it doesn't work - Survival Mode
In Creative Mode, you only need 1 wooden part in hand.

Step 2
Remove the blocks
(easier to attach the woodbeams without blocks)

Alternative you can keep the 4 blocks in the middle if you want to adjust your spokes later.
Step 3
Woodbeams in desired ID to attach the outer rim

Customize the size of your woodbeams so that they slightly overlap

Use enter key to attach your woodbeams until you rim is closed

Attach the new woodbeams on the outer edge of the previous ones

Advanced options
Arcs, towers and wells work with the same system. you only have to rotoate your woodbeams on the floor.

Some examples

With the size command you can reduce the gaps when docking more exactly.
Adjust the size of the part to be docked, so that the gaps are smaller.
Just try it out.

Until such objects are integrated into the game, we will have to do with self creatived stuff for a while. :steamhappy:

"player created objects use more memory then pre-made things"
That's most likely not the issue given the additional memory will be negligible. The issue is that, more than likely, each object will require an additional draw call rather than all of it being batched into a single call. If it's the latter than the performance will be relative to just having some 'spoke' wheel item in game.

this game feels like a job interview or early alpha. everything is stationary. profiling people with ideas to consider taking up for a job programing various things in actual game.

Problem with the circles and such buildings are many many parts. You can blueprint a piece of a circle and put it together with other parts. That's possible, of course. But unfortunately the parts do not become less. If such a building is build or blueprinted makes no difference. The parts are the same. Maybe it will be possible to see such a blueprint as one part, would be really helpful. Unfortunately this is not yet possible. If you're using cad you are able to calculate an ellipse, cool. :steamhappy:
Unfortunately I don't know how to proceed with terrain processing.

player created objects use more memory then pre-made things. one circle its not much, 10000 can be bit laggy. unless its made as a one block by using a blueprint
im working in autocad, 30 diferent lines as objects use more memory then if you make a block from 30 single lines into one object. question is, does blueprint makes all objects in it one object when you paste it, or not?
heres an idea, once you make a circle and using a bp on it, then pasting it - making it able to resize, make an elipse etc change width ---it would make things way easier, so people dont have to remake things over and over from the scratch. is that even possible?
also can you add some tools that change terrain on greater scope without using the console, like constructing a tracktor or doser that can plow the land, flatten it.

I think that creating it yourself is faster :steamhappy:
